P2P Account Bound Pets and Mounts

Same can be said for F2P accounts :p Some F2Ps have farmed thousands and thousands of times for the sea turtle or for a rare purple stupid bird that just won't drop that they feel it would have been for no reason if they just linked and automatically got all their p2p stuffz.

The Sea Turtle was added in 3.1 - April 14th 2009. I had been farming every so often since then and only just got it on my P2P on the 13th of the 10th 2012. Roughly 3 years to get it - terrible luck. No I did not farm it 24/7 - but 3 years to get such an item would put you off farming for it again, yes? :p

It has more value on a f2p that earned it them self. Using a level 90 mount that anyone can get doesn't mean much however having a higher level mount on a low character means something... I agree with your scenario and it would suck to refarm it but you have to admit that having a f2p unlinked account with sea turtle would mean ALOT more then a f2p linked account with it.

Just look at the reactions when a f2p had sea turtle in cata and now the reactions in mop, with account wide stuff most of the f2p vanity items have been greatly diminished imo

But it's not because of other people's reactions that I love my Sea Turtle, I just love it because turtle! Sea Turtle!

If its anything involving pve I couldnt care less, I love my linked mounts and pets that I used to carry around from days of old.

I earned both my Sea Turtle and my Bloodsail Admiral title on my F2P, but my accounts have always been linked since forever. I was only slightly bummed when they made the changes linking everything because it wasn't as easy to distinguish what achievements I got on which account, but who really cares? Your achievements are really for yourself anyway: I know some people want to show off their achievements but as I said a couple of weeks ago, no one places as much value on your characters as you do yourself.

I love the selection of pets I have to choose from. I know that I farmed all my devilsaur hatchlings on my F2P account, and it doesn't matter to me who else knows. If anyone's really curious they would just ask. I do also love using the Swift Charger for Kincaide and the Alterac Valley Swift Ram for Xiuying, just because stylistically and color-wise, they look great with those characters!

No one else really cares what you do with your characters and accounts, and they shouldn't anyway. Unless someone is giving themselves some sort of advantage in PvP, it's no one's business but your own. Have fun with your account and enjoy the fruits of all your accomplishments.

Isn't there an option to make it so people can only see achieves on the toon, not account? I do that on my f2ps

For me it was very important to be unlinked. As I started linked, I got all achievements / pets / mounts. Called blizzard and they unmerged it for me - and believe me, being unlinked is so much more entertaining than being linked :)
You can become an achievement "woman" for example.
The one thing that makes me sad is even if I get a mount or title which requires very hard work and dedication (eg. Wooly Mammoth on a F2P DK or if I for example have GFd "the hallowed" title) it means nothing, because everybody will think that you are linked.

[...]it means nothing, because everybody will think that you are linked.

This is a legitimate question, I'm not trying to be flippant I'd really like to know your answer... What is the value in what other people think? Does all the work you do to achieve something only matter if someone else notices and gives you recognition for it? If it's something that a P2P could get easily and an F2P has to work for, keep in mind that all P2Ps aren't even going to notice, because what does the a normal P2Per know about F2P restrictions?

You got me. What you are saying is true about me - I care what others think. Of course if I get something that I thrived to obtain for a long time, I would be proud, but the whole thing is that I will show it to others, my friends, you here - on Twinkinfo. I feel better when some appreciates me. About what a p2p is going to notice - I meant that F2P on WSG or goldshire would see me and say "oooo, he is the hallowed! He must've been playing for long!" and now they;ll say "Meh, that guy got the hallowed. Nothin special" - and ride their way on a gryphon. Assuming that I have "the hallowed" (which i sadly don't have) I would be fluttered if anyone come by and said "wow, you have that nice title! gz :)"
Now even real F2P can't know if you achieved something on your own or by linking.

That's a fair answer, and there's nothing really wrong with wanting to show off your accomplishments either, I'm not here to put the yuck on whatever you find yummy.

I think you might find that people still admire some accomplishments regardless of whether they're from F2P or P2P. For example I've gotten a surprising number of responses since I started wearing my Bloodsail Admiral title. Yes I earned it on F2P, but it's an accomplishment even for a P2P. So guess I'm saying not all hope is lost.

:O That's strange. What sort of error did you encounter? I thought F2P could redeem all Blizz store and TCG items.

I have got several TCG items on my F2P - but appearently you cant use the pet/mount codes that come from the official blizzard store on a starter account. I asked the GM who helped me get my refund about it, but he/she didnt know why that was - she could see that its stupid though ;D

That's a real shame. :(
