A. Final Fact
a. Never Prot PLEASE
I felt like i should start with the area that "Grinds my Gears" the Most. In a Pug game there should never be a prot paladin that isn't an F2p. Let me say, i understand if your galloping around with 2k+ Hp and mana but If its not for "Laughs" you are putting your team at a disadvantage. Our Class relies on instant healing spells so if you limit that section you limit your ability to help the team in general which can easily decide the game.
Situation-Problem: 2.2k hp+ Prot paladin is not the best FC within the game and is forced to go Offence, Not only would it lack Dps holding 1 cast-able affective damage spell (No real FC would let you even get in range of an Exospam). Yet would fall behind on heals, Resulting in a Disaster on an Offence to lose the game.
Situation-Correction: 1.4-1.6k Hpall not only can full fill both rolls with the right situational gear. But will always surpass the Prot in all likely rolls within pugs. More reliable for pug healing and Fcing (Premades = only possible acception).
b.DOES TOPPING HEALING CHARTS MEAN I'M GOOD?
ORE'S VIEW: Why this continues to proceed throughout the bracket i don't understand and even your most beloved leaders believe in this Theory. Let me put it to the grave and say "No, any fool with a brain can heal for 50k in Mid-Field, why that's so hard for some to believe reflects on their lack of open mind and short attension spand.
True Fact: A paladin should be "rated" on placement, which reflects on the deaths He or her has per game. A paladin should NEVER die in a pug game. I understand the occasional 3 hunters focus aim shot, but even then it's your duty to not "Drift" into any type of placement that leads to death.
How to solve: Stay just in range of your offence or even right on top of them. ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings. All healers in general should be trying to perfect this method.
c.SITUATION: HELPING FC X-FIELD SET
Helm: [Tattered Dreadmist Mask]
Neck: [Voice Amplification Modulator]
Shoulders: [Pristine Lightforge Spaulders]
Cape: [Spidersilk Drape] Ench-5 Resistance
Chest: [Mystical Vest of Elements] Ench- 4 All-stats
Wrist: [Uninsured Bracers] Ench- 9 stamina
Gloves: [Wild Rider's Gloves] Ench- +10 haste
Belt : [Earthbound Girdle] of the Sorcerer
Pants: [Godfrey's Britches] Ench- Reinforced armor (+16 armor)
Boots: [Merger Boots] Ench- Minor Speed
Rings: [Stillwater's Signet] [Lavishly Jeweled Ring]
Trinkets: If Human 2x [Arena Grand Master] If not replace one with [Inherited Insignia of the Horde]
Weapon/shield: [Devout Aurastone Hammer] Ench- +22intellect[Shield of Talrendis Point] Ench- Vitality +10stam +10spir
THIS SETUP INCREASES YOUR SPELL CRIT CHANCE TO 25%
EXPLANATION: This set should be your first and foremost set to get with it being the most important situation for all Hpalls. And will end up being the base set in which all other sets build off of. Hpalls require utilizing their burst repertoire to make them the best healers they can possibly be. What statistic goes perfect with burst? Crit. This set is only frowned upon or looked pass by leaders because of it's lack of armor/stamina. So i suggest this for the most elite who only find themselves at the graveyard of any pug because they realized there placement was not correct at the moment of their death.
In Other Words: If you are a healer, being concerned with stamina/armor and not putting in the stats to make you the best healer you can be is selfish. Their are basic methods to bi-pass being an easy target for damage.
-BoP-ing ones self and other basic Hpall (get aways) such as Hoj etc..
- Terrain Jumps
-PLACEMENT, PLACEMENT, PLACEMENT AWARENESS
c1. FLag carrying set:
Helm: [Polished Helm of Valor] ( for the fact of being hit capped makes it a better choice over [Burnished Helm of Might], since the armor values are exactly the same "in this patch").
Neck: [Thick Bronze Necklace]
Shoulders: [Pristine Lightforge Spaulders]
Chest: [Burnished Breastplate of Might] Ench- +100hp (No question, armor value is way to significant)
Wrist: [Sparkmetal Bracers], Ench- +9stamina (Subsitutes include [Bracers of the Most Trusted]
Gloves: [Defender Gauntlets] Of the Eagle, Ench- +16 Spell power
Belt : [Earthbound Girdle] Of Stamina
Pants: [Defender Leggings] Of the Eagle
Boots: 2x [Silver-Linked Footguards], 1 with Ench- Minor speed and 1 with Ench-7 stamina (Equipped boots with 7 stam when FC stacks are at 4+)
Rings: 2x [Seal of Argas], Substitutes include [Garrosh's Pardon]
Trinkets: 2x [Arena Grand Master] for all races. But keep 1 [Inherited Insignia of the Horde] equipped when not on CD if not rolling a "Human"
Weapon/shield: [The Blessed Hammer of Grace] Ench- 22intell [Redbeard Crest] Ench- Vitality (10stam, 10spir)
THIS Setup Gives you 2.2k+ armor and a total amount of 58% damage Reduction.
REASON OF BEING: Remember how people only rated your FC gear on how much stamina you have, Well.. this still happens and they still don't understand how wrong they are. Blizzard clearly is relying toward BURST in lower brackets to please those who like "Big Numbers". Which makes armor a must have when it comes to Fcing Now days. Notice how all the druids who have 2.4k hp+ are getting 1 shot by 2+ rogue ambushes. Why? Because they have a total of 900-1k armor, Not their fault but that's the reason. Having 58% Damage reduction changes everything asked any rogue that. And you might see yourself with this gear to only pass 1.8k-1.9k hp with Rumsey /gasp. But it balances out because your hit for less and you and other healers, heal for more on you. Overall it's a better choice to sieze reduction then those "Big numbers" of Health. Some people forget that there's other ways to survive other than stamina /facepalm.
c11. TIPS ON FC-ing:
d1. PROFESSIONS Herb/Skinning 225
REASONING: Again unless your a permanent FC where no Hpall is, Sacraficing 5 crit chance for stamina is downgrading your chance to put out the Most heals you possibly can when it counts. Seeing those 4 critical flash of lights for 1.3k+ or just that 1 crit for 1.3k+ do to getting 225 skinning can make or break your FC.
- Herb is clearly a must have since it sincranises both with your "crunch time" Exospam or FoL's. The amount of Haste that is obtained for that vast amount of time gives a Hpall the ability to down an EFC/EFC Healer or save multiple targets depending on how you use it.
d2. TALENTS: Protector of innocent 3/3, Judgement of the Pure 2/3, And lastly Blazing light 1/2
Let me explain- Clarify of Purpose should never be considered. Last word also is not reliable because true-fully you never find yourself blowing a WoG on somone below 35% health. Your first priortity is always to Holy shock somone with low health followed by a FoL then a WoG for max Healing to full health. Which leaves this talent really a stalemate because is seems so "common sense" type yet it is rarely never "procs" for you.
BLAZING LIGHT Exorcism as a spell might be the most significant "spell to cast-time ratio" ability in the bracket other than pendanse. Raising the damage done by it and your main spell as a Hpall holy shock makes this choice in reality a no brainer.
Many Roll the class cause they feel it's the only way they can "keep up" with players.
