I just noticed that in a couple of months I will become a "Veteran" on TI. I guess it's cool and all to have a the title and green name, but I feel bad for those members who have been here since '09 or 2010. There's a huge difference between having created an account in '09 compared to 2012. I think it would be cool to have a new rank for those who have had an account since 2010 and before; the rank of "Elder" or something like that. Not many of them may care, but it would be interesting to see more clearly who the OG TI members are.

Just throwing out an idea here, what about a badge that gets updated for every year you've been on the site, upgraded on the birthday of your registration? In the military we had service stripes, that showed how long you'd been in the service. Something like a stripe or chevron for every year you've been a member.

What do you guys think about having two separate ranking systems, one that indicates your activity (what we have now) and a separate one that shows the amount of time you've been here? I'm a little concerned about combining time ranks and participation ranks together, because I think some of the specialness of both of them would be lost that way. I think we can find a way to honor your time with the site, while still preserving the display of your participation as well.

I think that would be awesome. Just lookking at Juno0's page. He has been a member since 2010 and has over 4,000 posts, yet he still is the same "rank" as any other Veteran.
 
Shouldn't be based on posts other than the "twink, master twink, etc" Because there are some people who will post 2000+ in less than a year.
 
Allright, it sounds like there is plenty of interest in this, we'll present it to Shane to see what's physically possible to incorporate into the site and we'll report back here when we have more info!
