New hunters joining the 19 bracket.

Lesson 3:

you can stay in combat if you pet attack an enemy player in mid then use this macro to pull your pet back after you get into combat

this is is really important so you don't get sapped and your healers can get combat from you to avoid saps

/petpassive
/petfollow
/cast mend pet

also having your pet abilities and controls key bound really helps in the long run.

(will add more macros when I get home)

You can also keep riptide/fire shock on a said pet to ensure you stay in combat as a shaman.

I watched the premades last night on stream, Phobia. Great games. Having Buns call out targets to burst was obviously a huge tool in the mid fights (HUGE, enemies went from topped off to dead before healers could react which is kinda the point but still satisfying to watch.) As a hunter (survival) in pugs though, what are some things I should be thinking about in the mid fight. Obviously if someone gets chunked, swap to them and get however many arcane shots you can but I often feel ineffective when the enemy healers are doing their job and we can't land a kill. Another thing, concussive shot on melees? Or is there a special target I'm not aware of that should get slowed. I watched you cut off the resto shamen a bunch trying to ghost wolf around mid fight last night which I'll add to my list of to-dos. Thanks for all your advice and keep up the streams, I'm always trying to watch hunter gameplay.
Cheers

It's nice to see how eager new players are to learn and improve and how willing experienced players are to give them advice. You have to love how far this bracket has come.

Shoutout to all the respectable twinks who have helped to make the bracket what it is today. You're all amazing. We're one big happy twink family.

hey! thanks for all the good compliments and support. so in mid fight hunters dont really have a HUGE impute damage wise. dont get me wrong your damage matters but compared to other classes you dont have burst. So just assist in damaging over extended players. For slows I try to conc anyone who is trying to run past, ill also see they we are going to land a kill and conc the next kill target to stop him from getitng out of the fight. like in the premades HB would say "can we swap to a healer" and i would conc the closest healer to allow us to swap.

Any other macros that I can't live without?

/stopcasting
/stopcasting
/stopcasting
/cast arcane shot

for everything not steady shot. just incase you get a scope proc mid steady shot cast

#showtooltip Roar of Sacrifice
/petpassive
/cast Dash
/petfollow
/cast [mod:ctrl,@focus] Roar of Sacrifice
/cast [nomod,@player] Roar of Sacrifice
/cast [mod:shift,@mouseover] Roar of Sacrifice

change modifier to whatever you want or separate it to different keybinds but keep the /petpassive /cast Dash /petfollow bit this way your pet will come back to you

Do I need all three stop casting?
That one is important though. Like when you get opened on mid steady shot cast and can't disengage. Valuable.

All three seems to be the best. Cant hurt

This brings up a good point of emphasis. What is the high damage rotationish that you should do on scope proc?

The Roar macro can be changed to charge if you have a boar/bear.

Hey! see you all the time in WSG, just keep playing and learning the meta. Make sure you keep your eye open for people who are trying to cross mid on the side of a team fight! =) Msg me if you have any questions.

Great question. Which of the many buttons should I press to do damage?

Grow up Arkant not all of us are as handsome of a hunter as you

I would assume Explosive then however many arcane you can before focus runs out. If it's true that explosive is better damage/focus that is. (which I hope it is since it is the "cool" spell the spec gives.)

So I was typing up the macros and thought to myself, "man fuck having 3 stopcastings, I don't need that shit. I just need one. more commands will just increase response time." Ya that doesnt work. need all 3 stopcastings lol

One will stopcasting your auto-attack. Two will stop casting the steady shot. Not sure what the third one is for though.

Get an addon to track scope proc so you can pool focus in anticipation for a scope proc

scope procs with low focus are lame
