New F2Ps On The Block MOP

I'm noticing a ton of new players since MOP came out. It is most likely due to the commercial campaign with "PLAY IT FOR FREE" at the end.

I urge you to help out these new kids on the block! There have been far too many situations lately with people criticizing new players for being poorly geared instead of pointing them in the right direction. I don't ask much from 24s because well... but lend your fellow F2P players a helpful hand?

Hello cart, I'm a horse.

I think part of being a new player IS being poorly geared.

It's a nice thought, but pointing them here is about as far as I go.

If I see a rogue with spirit gloves I take moment to whisper them. You can get some nice gloves off the second boss in Blackfathom Deeps, agility helps your damage.

Many new players think stamina is their stat priority. YDE IS A MODERATOR!!! I think I started that campaign!

There are always people who are "better" than those who think they are "good". So those players could easily say they carry you every bg.

If you want to support the twink community then stop trying to be an elitist once your skill level has surpassed others. Otherwise you are just feeding off it to support your fragile ego.

Lesson I learned pretty fast when I started WoW, if your gear sucks, you are considered to suck as well. Take it for what it is and move on in your adventure.

saw a new 20 mage on AP the other day

his name was swangpush or swagporsche or swanprince or somethin along those lines.... forgot the exact naming...

female blood elf... i rolled my eyes and thought "oh, not one of _those_ players again"

we did some premades and although he didn't show much promise in bgs or arenas but definitely was ahead of the rest when it came to his toon's fashion choices

like, if 10/10 is a perfect mog, his mog is about 9000/10

Hi,

i think for most of the people (including me) who play this game for years now, it's a total mystery how someone is able to create an account, level to 20 and join a battleground without any idea of running dungeons (or their existence) or gear and stats in general.

Maybe we all are just too old with our blinders.

Cheers

The reality is most of the people judging players on their gear don't even know what skill is. The game has more n00bs than it does newbies.

Good point people need to help trials cause this game has gone to shit and they are the future gen.

to be perfectly frank i just need to make 8 or so new macros all with a link for a ti guide on a certian class. i feel like half the people in bg;s are like "go to twink info brah " any new person would be like wtf is twink info?" . they google it if your lucky but chances are they never even find anything constructive because the forum here contains more flames and trolls than hell itself. i feel a strait up link to a general pvp guide , a key turning guide , and a class guide would be so much bettter.

me and some friends tried this. all we got was "omg nerd get a life, you suck".

haha - I've gotten that a few times trying to help people. If someone asks me where I got dat fishing hat I try to explain until they say "wut stranglethorn vale?" then I just point them the letter "M" and to wowhead.com.

People getting mad/rude after they ask you for help is really silly. I was also told I was a cheater/hack or fake f2p since I had BoAs by a group of 3 premade 24s (with less health than I had)... hahaha.

Well nowadays I've been doing this for so long I really try to take it as funny rather than frustrating.

I'm not really the helpful type, as I have gone ignored in the past when I try to help people whether in a dungeon or in a BG. It's easier to just be silent and hope someone with a little more patience and civility does it. Because unfortunately, no one likes to be told that they are playing the game wrong. New or not.

My brother bashed me to hell about how bad I was til I got good. It was frustrating but it worked.

It works for some, but not all. People take you identifying their mistakes and offering advice as criticism, which in itself is negative, instead of as constructive criticism, which is negative but also doing something positive. I don't know how to explain it properly. No one taught me how to play. Not even my dad. I have been playing since Wotlk and I'm still learning. :p Some people just don't want to have their hand held even a little.
