New F2P player.

Hello everyone. I am Vianco[EU], I've played this game since vanilla(had beta aswell). I've been playing pretty much every bracket and in s3 and s4 I achived gladiator. I'm usuallly playing 19 in eu a lot. I'm also playing 39 & 70 once in a while, I really enjoy 19 however no one wants to play arena and despite the 70 bracket has arenas it still sucks because all you meet at 2,3k+ mmr is rmp. This is the reason why I want to try F2P on AP(US). I want to play an enhancement shaman and therefore I have some questions:

Are they even viable?
What gear should I get before I have my heirlooms(esp weapons)? edit: playing alliance.
Are there arenas being played everyday?

I might reroll there with my friend and he's gonna play a rogue, so we're currently looking for a disc priest for our 3s team (disc, enchancement and rogue)
ps. the rogue has been 2,5k mmr aswell in retail so we will not disappoint you :)

,best regards
-vianco :)

Welcome Vianco,

As an avid enh shaman player myself I can assure you they are certainly viable. Lava Lash, Primal Strike and Earth Shock gives us a reasonable burst (not the best though). We still have Healing Surge and can therefore be ok healers vs PUG's, for arena's you'll have to find out yourself. The same is true for our totems, they are great assets in BG's but maybe too situational for Arena.

I've only seen enhancement shamans with double McGowans, wouldn't devout aurastone hammer be better?

edit: for better offheals, better shocks and harder flametounge procs

You get no more benefit from spell power and int concerning spell dmg and healing output. The only benefit will be a larger mana pool.

Only source for spell power is the mental quickness of the enhance tree.

Enhancement Shamans are viable in F2P. So far, the class/spec I have the most fun yet. How to play an Enhancement Shaman in WSG, ie, depends on your teammates: Not enough healers or none, he has to heal 1st then doing damage (fight will come to you anyway). With a pocket healer, that he helps to keep the pocket healer alive when he got damaged (heal him and doing a cleaning around him), he will do over 40k damage in a single game.
