new 5.4 mounts

Would a pure F2P be able to join a raid/party and roll on any of these loots? Mount, transmog or companion.. I wouldn't mind a new mount! :D

A F2P can join the DMF rabbit to get the companion (I rolled a 99 and lost to a 100 roll then a second time I rolled a 95 and lost to a 95  ) so idk why we wouldn't be allowed to roll on the mount :) Would be neat to have a wolf mount for alliance

Dat rng lol. I hadn't thought about wolf on an alliance toon, that would be awesome!

Daggers and Fist weapons do not share animations while maces/axes/swords all have the same animations. That is why you cannot transmog them to other things.

There's some thing in the game about how the game chooses animations to use by the weapon you're using rather than the weapon you have transmogged. So if you mogged a dagger to an axe you would presumably still be stabbing people with an axe. I read that somewhere I cannot remember, no source.

While this is true, Bows can be pasted over Guns and vice versa, even though the animations are different. With str polearms making a come back and titans grip being allowed to dual wield them, we may see more transmog restrictions lift, one hopes anyway.

Shft does staves and polearms share animation?

pretty sure they do. then again, i could have no idea what im talking about.

Edit: Gonna go look for blue posts...

"Yup, we're hoping to allow you to transmogrify items that share animations, like polearms and staves, so main hand/one hand won't be an issue any more once this goes live. Still aiming for 5.2 as far as I know :)"

"Removing main-hand/off-hand Xmog restrictions maybe by 5.2. Also allowing Xmog of weaps w/ similar anims (2H axe/2H sword, etc).
Problem right now is fist weapons can be quite big, & Monk anims are detailed enough that these weapons cause bad art clipping.
I discussed w/ Ghostcrawler & he's going to see if we can make polearm Xmog work for War/DK/Ret weapon types. Want to!"

..well i can't find the blue post. But it seems staves and polearms have similar but not exactly alike animations. Of course we know that ranged weapons all have different animations. I'm not really sure why blizzard doesn't want fists/daggers to be moggable into other things. oh well ;p

Not sure if this is old news but I'll share anyway just in case. Turns out the Moonfang mount is not a "traditional" mount. It's looted as Shimmering Moonstone. On use, the item is not consumed and you don't "learn" the mount. Instead, it works much like the old mount system where you have to use the item to mount up each time. This means it doesn't count toward mount totals for achievements, etc. Also, the item itself has the requires Darkmoon Faire tag on it, which leads me to believe that after the Faire ends it'll disappear, unfortunately.

The mount (and all the other stuff off Moonfang, presumably) is obtainable by F2P without too much difficulty beyond RNG, as anyone who's tagged the boss is able to loot, no group required. Basically you want to attack until you can get one to not miss (which can take a while against a 90 boss) to get the tag, and then do your best to avoid getting killed by the adds/AoE until the boss is dead.

Moonfangs level is very high - i never hit it with my rogue, but you simply can heal or first aid any 90 attacking him, like healers in a raid dont need to hit the boss, but heal the ones that have the aggro to still get the loot.
And yes the possible mount behaves like the magic broom on halloween, but Moonfang drops a nice pet Moon Moon - Item - World of Warcraft
