If teams prefer BO3, both Guild leaders must state their approval in this thread prior to the first match. The BO3 MUST occur in the same night. If one team cannot continue before the 3 games have been played, they will forfeit the remaining games.

• Without proof of the agreement in this thread, I will only count game 1 as normal.
• Keep in mind, there is no timer. Be prepared for the long haul if you pick this option. (My fear with this amendment is a 3 hour game 1 in which the winning team cannot continue after. Plan accordingly.)

Added 8/9/2021. Still have some concerns here, but want to give the option. Might look to tweak this still.

What is the point of the records?
My interpretation of hairys statement, was to keep record and to rank teams based on his grading standards in hopes that the teams who are paying attention to the rankings will become accountable and play with more responsibility regarding the outcome in respect to the activity of the community.

Not going to touch on the rule set thing too much, I do agree with lilpeepee that rules shouldnt change or it will affect the integrity of the standards which are used to grade teams.

Biggest LOL so far tho is seeing people feeling really passionate about (imo) how they are ranked, REMINDER - a win or a loss is objective, a non official ranking is subjective. Biased or not, this is Hairys way of keeping track and then sitting with the community to rank them. if you dont like it, log off. Block the website lol (iykyk)

As per HTM's post amending the rules, below is the screenshot of Falaris (PR) and my (FMH) agreement for our premade this weekend (August 15 6 PT/9 ET) regarding respecting a best of three outcome for the purposes of the guild ranking system, as well as a friendly agreement that if the first game exceeds one hour and thirty minutes in length, the loser forfeits the other two games in the series in the interest of time.

What if two guilds continuously farm BTNE, but refuse to play each other and the only time they ever play each other it leads to a 3hr stalemate? Does the first guild that beat them become the #1 guild? Can the guild that forms later never become the #1 guild?

Assuming in this scenario, these are the top 1, 2, 3 teams. If the #2 team refuses to play the #1 team, then they are content with being #2 if they can continue defend it from those below. If #2 challenges #1 and #1 declines, #1 loses the rank. If #2 challenges #1 and they play, if #2 can't cap a flag on #1 then they haven't proven they deserve to take the rank.
1) I don't think two teams will never cap on eachother
2) I still think this is a non-issue

I don't want Guilds to be held accountable if a Guild more than 2 ranks below challenges them so they can prioritize scheduling challenges from closer ranked Guilds. I would not want the #1 Guild to be unable to schedule a game vs #2 or #3 because their timeslots are being taken by Guild #8 and #9. However, if the higher Guild feels they can accommodate more games or have an open schedule, they are always free to play anyone they please. These games will be counted for rank if they occur, but the higher team won't be punished if they decide to decline or cancel.

This ranking system is shit. Thanks for letting the bottom teams know they suck, which isn't even the case but that's how it's portrayed. You might as well just include win loss not sure of the reason for that.

I hope that more guilds opt out of being ranked as did phx pretty toxic to the bracket. Literally just have fun and play the games. Twink cups are dead tournaments are mostly dead, and nobody's getting paid to play this game. Have fun with the gametime you have, sperging out on 19 twinks is a 2016 look, that doesn't look too good.

Yes -- Rankings are dumb. Host a tournament if you want to encourage premades and have evidence to "rank" guilds. This is just a super lazy way to create toxicity. I want to formally declare that <Chipotle Mexican Grill> will be opting out of these rankings as well. Great games yesterday Phoenix and Four Person Heist.

With all the controversy surrounding this thread/ranking, I feel like the post-game discussion went wildly off the mark. I really enjoyed the match against you guys (Phx). They were hard fought games and I saw a lot of great plays watching Plants' cast (which was excellent, btw).

In the spirit of being positive, please see clip of Dr Dogg absolutely crushing our defense as a terrace cutter. Hides from Jfine's perception, gets the sap on me and the gouge on Drad. Glad that Plants' stream caught this because it's just cool rogue play.

Fuckin cry babies, nobody is making you care about this, this is HTM's list/system/rankings. You don't like it, so what, it doesn't change a fuckin thing. "We opt out" of what? What are you exactly opting out of? Are you opting out of him ranking according to how he sees it with his system as a basis or criteria or whatever you wanna call it? How can you opt out of him ranking you according to recent activity/games/recruitment or whatever else he is going off of as a way to list the guilds?

I know a lot of the people who have posted cry about posts people make everyday in discord, I see it carried over to Xpoff (naturally) as well.
