Comp WoW is a joke because every class has been homogenised and pruned to great extents. Bliz couldn't balance the game even with the pruning so they added dampening. They still failed that too so they raped healer mana pools. The tournys get less than 20k viewers even in finals because the game is boring to watch. Dampening until some idiot cleave 1 shots the other, often with 2x1 class in a 3s comp like MW WW X.
When I say comp pvp is a joke generally, I mean because the game has had balancing issues since day 1 and in my opinion the game-play (as in how classes are played) has gradually deteriorated since ~cata (yeah, sometimes picks up, but general downward trend).
Probably the world first races are a bit less of a joke, otherwise no. Even they are still kind of a joke because US gets 24h head start, so it's totally unfair. The fact Method wins is a fucking meme.
I assume all you do is wargame because I only ever saw you in 1 bg and I shit on you. I've played hundreds of BGs in 70s (I sexually identify as bg hero). The very nature of this thread implies you barely BG. You seem so obsessed with 70s that I just assume you don't also play max level competitively. If you do, I stand corrected.

"The game is bad because it used to be better". This criticism is ironically very popular among players who were never good enough to tell the difference (not necessarily directed at you).
You're entitled to your opinion but again I'll point out how it comes across to me:

Oh look, the numbers agree with what I pulled off the top of my thread. Most of my glad friends have quit, and the ones that haven't have become casual because they don't know how to fill the void that wow addiction leaves. Bliz stopped releasing the data after 2015 because WoD was so shit it fluctuated to 5 mil, which brought blizzard a tonne of bad press. I was also quit then, the game was in a dirt state.

Viewership for WoW tournaments is higher than a lot of other games that focus exclusively on the competitive aspect, such as R6S or SSBU (the latter being insanely popular). Viewership has also been going up over the last year or so. And that's with a scene that doesn't support players to anywhere near the same extent as other Esports, barely hosting a handful of tournaments throughout a year.

That's a lot of viewers for a game as old as WoW. It's literally directly competing with a brand new game like SSBU in viewership numbers for comparable tournaments.
