People need to realise this thread is completely opinion and stop getting mad. You have no Idea how hard it is for somebody playing in Australia where you have 300+ Latency and 0.6 seconds delay in everything you do. For example, when I use shear on a target the second he casts a spell, it hits around 0.8 seconds into the cast. I bet I can beat all of you if I had American latency.

I NEVER go under 150 lat and I NEVER have over 10 fps while doing bgs yet people have still voted for me.. Your excuse isn't valid

Bad latency causes lag, as far as I know.

can someone explain the difference between lag and latency to me or is that way too off topic?

lag= low fps (frame rates per second). fps is the amount of times your screen updates to changes. If you have low fps (I have around .3 in sw or dal) your screen simply doesnt change and you're stuck on the same screen for a long time. I think this is what causes people to "jump" or run in place in bgs. I think the avg fps is around 25?

Lat=time it takes for your game or comp to connect to the server or something like that. With high lat (I heard anything over 100 is considered high not long ago and laughed cause I never hit under 150) your reactions are delayed and other players constantly have a slightly quicker reaction then you. Ex. I scroll slick with 200 lat yet I get out clicked by clickers with 100 lat even though scroll clicking is considerably faster.

MS Lag is the result of poor latency. Latency is the time it takes for your keystrokes to communicate to the server. For example, lil's 150ms would be on the high end of a playable latency.... (ms is milliseconds, if you were unaware.) I, being in Southern California, have around 130 ms on Aerie Peak, which is in New York, and less than 30 on servers based in Los Angeles, such as Korgath.

There is also FPS lag, which is a direct result of poor CPU performance. Average FPS, for a modern computer, on this 8 year old game should be over 60. I play on a 4 year old laptop, and maintain about 35, which is a totally tolerable number, but when I spike below 20, I find the game to be quite unplayable.
