Historically the military has been the one to enforce a sort of separation of Religion and Government which Erdogan has been blurring the lines between, apparently he also hasn't been heard from in 6 days while on vacation and has been anticipating the possibility of such an event, it's also reported that he is safe.

The Prime Minister and Erdogan has called on citizens to take to the streets.

There has been helicopter fire near the governments intelligence headquarters.

Some military chief of staff have been taken hostage.

Conq you know if a military dude came up to you I would turn him inside out and blend him with my teeth, then I would personally take him to the hospital, only to open him up with non alcoholic scissors (dirty). Then I would call trendy with my macaw bird call, and have him carry you back to Santa Barbara where me you and him would chill all fucking day.

Would be nice if it was over and done with quickly, I think Erdogan saw this coming so hopefully it goes relatively smoothly.
 
They had been having a civil war for past year if u didn't know.
 
All social media is currently blocked. It's illegal to go out on the streets. Our president just openly said "everyone should go out on the streets". Both bosphorus bridges are closed. Jets and helicopters are flying all over the city. All major highways are closed. Tanks on the streets. Military seizing weapons from police. I just rushed home an hour ago, locked all doors, shits getting real.

I live in a very central part of istanbul, within a 5 km radius of both bosphorus bridges and the president has a home about 500m away from where I live, apperantly there is over 300 police there. Just sitting at home, watching it all unravel.
