Meta gems worth or not?

I'm interested if someone test Metagem like:

I give some exemple.But you can have 1% reflect spell,or 3agi and 3%crit effect, maybe the Xpac and the version of the Metagem will impact the proc rate, or the speed bonus, i don't know.

Just want to check if someone know if it can be better then ilvl 28 green gear.

can put a meta on it and 2* cogwheel +10 stat on it , it can be very good (scale to +3agi and +6stam) with a relic of the past

Its not a proc rate, its a straight value. Its 1% dmg reflection on spells and 3% increased crit damage. None of those meta gems are particularly good for pvp (though the 3% extra crit dmg was bis for raiding way back in the day.)

Effects from some metas make them highly desireable, especially the stun resist meta gem (5% proc rate is more than youd think) and the stun reduction. Some of the other ones (mana back, etc) also find their uses. I'd recommend them above just a regular gem helm or any helm without gems.

For the most part I'd say Meta + Socket(s) > 3x Sockets > anything else. There aren't many left that are of great value as @Chops pointed out but I still think they're worth it.

The +Haste Proc Meta is actually really powerful.

What DeLindsay said, https://www.wowhead.com/item=25893/mystical-skyfire-diamond is an absolute ton of fun. For my 29 it's 213 haste for 4 seconds, which is 37%. I don't know the exact proc amount for a 20 but I imagine it's equally as powerful.

Metas are useful but the haste proc ones are unreliable and on almost a minute icd with a short proc. The flat stat ones are mostly meh. Especially since when the crit % damage metas were good, crit was easily obtainable on twinks but as of now most brackets can not obtain a high enough crit to see its value higher than the passive cogwheel values. For melee classes the brutal earth storm diamond is hilarious, weapon damage\ a 2 sec stun that does dr sadly, but with no other stun available it can be an easy lock down and has a decent proc chance.

Now on to the spellreflect and mana regen metas, both still work the exact same way when they were made, the reflect meta reflects 1% of all spell damage back, unless shadowlands has rendered it inoperable. And the mana regen meta has always been semi decent, but most classes have no mana issues so meh.

Long story short, I’d say they are fun to use and can be great situationally but a flat stat helmet to get your secondary’s up if they aren’t high enough to gain a true benefit will be better

I forgot the name but the meta gem that occasionally increases melee and range speed is really good. It doesnt proc THAT often and when it does it's only for 5 seconds, but my 20 dk gets a 120 haste buff, which for seconds is still pretty fking good
