I get that, but if we are under level 50 is there a chance a trink is what will be created? I get we cant use it, which is why I said it would suck to use a weeks worth of shit for something we cannot use.

Like today crafting my 1st item it would have crushed me if it were a trinket it created.
Yes there is a chance. It is random. You get either a ring or a trinket, which increases the required crafts to get bis by quite a lot. You can not only craft rings.

Dropping a thanks for this guide as it was very helpful!
Also gonna add in my own tips to this, AKA: "Stuff I wish I knew about sooner".

Gear Checker Cogstar has the blueprints for the Mechagon Transporter, so you don't have to park your character at Mechagon during the grind.

Gorged Gear Cruncher drops loot every time it's defeated, so it's worth braving that drill event even though it has bugged mobs so long as you have a volatile blaster to deal with them. It should be noted that the room adjacent to the elite spawn doesn't have any bugged mobs in it so you can safely farm spare sparts and energy cells there, even if you don't go after the Gear Cruncher.

Use Spark-1351 as close the edge of the 'water' as you can, so when you spawn them all they are all relatively close together and easy to AOE down (and makes it easier to pick up the spare parts as well)

When the quest One Gnome's Trash is available, farm for small metal boxes with the rare metal collector and DO NOT open them until you've completed the quest Discs of Norgannon (when it's available), as this is basically the only way to get scorched data discs; which of course is a quest item you DO NOT want to turn in along with cracked numeric cylinder and large storage fragment, so you can summon three rare mobs each day. (I don't believe low levels can access the 4th item rust covered disc but I could be wrong)

Speaking of other quests to not turn in...

Aid From Nordrassil will provide you with living sap which you can use on the white mushrooms to spawn Fungarian Furor every day.

Taking The Air Out will give you a rocket box that gives you BOOM-TASTIC 3000 which you can use to take down rares and elites faster. The downside is that it will shoot friendlies/quest givers, but the upside is you can delete the BOOM-TASTIC 3000 and rocket box will remain for you to use it when you want to use it. I find it useful if Toys for Destruction doesn't provide a good weapon (or just not feel like doing it).

Hope these tips helps other people as well!

Level 10-11s can absolutely get unusuable trinkets from the augment craft.

I have several twinks who have been farming to Revered Rustbolt. Both of them had enough for 3 crafts recently. One got... 3 trinkets. The other got 2 trinkets and 1 ring.

Not happy.

The Mechagon dailies have cycled far enough that I can open up more https://www.wowhead.com/item=168204/small-metal-box with the https://www.wowhead.com/quest=56410/discs-of-norgannon quest completed.

Can now confirm that https://www.wowhead.com/item=169594/rust-covered-disc is also contained in them! Took 8 boxes to get to it.

I had the other three quests active while opening the boxes, as you can get duplicates of the others if you have the items in your bag but are not on the quest.

I might as well include the macros to accept and abandon these quests (lifted from the wowhead comments by lqqkout)

/click QuestFrameAcceptButton
/use item:169591 -- (Cracked Numeric Cylinder)
/use item:169593 -- (Large Storage Fragment)
/use item:169594 -- (Rust Covered Disc)
/use item:169595 -- (Scorched Data Disc)

/run for k, v in pairs({ Cracked = 56421, Large = 56423, Rust = 56424, Scorched = 56425}) do q = C_QuestLog.SetSelectedQuest(v); C_QuestLog.SetAbandonQuest(q); C_QuestLog.AbandonQuest(); end

Thanks for including this! Can you give an estimate how many minutes 1 box takes to obtain and if the wowhead 90% drop rate for https://www.wowhead.com/item=166971/empty-energy-cell is correct. Mainly wondering if from an efficiency perspective they are worth it.

For me on average I got 1 https://www.wowhead.com/item=168204/small-metal-box every 15 minutes. Sometimes they'd show up back to back, other times there'd be a drought for a half hour or longer. The optimal strategy here seems to be to get Cracked Numeric Cylinder and Large Storage Fragment from the trogs and gnomes, and then start opening the boxes. I imagine you need around 15 to be safeish on getting the other two.
