Maximum Strength Main Hand?

So I've been quite skeptical as to which main hand I should use in my max strength, or glass cannon, set on my prot paladin. I've got all the maximum strength (4 str) main hand weapons just sitting in my bags but I don't know which ones to use.
Each weapon has the same strength, as does when scaled, but they all have their own unique speed and dps and overall damage range. I have no idea about which is more important for a prot paladin, or any class.

Can someone help me out with this topic, it should help others as well.
So what's more important for me to take into consideration? Speed, damage range, or dps? They're all confusing and all so different!!

I like diamond hammer.

psh use razors edge . its 5 str and 2 hit which helps u hit cap with max str

Protector's Sword is pre-BOA BiS.
Razor's Edge is very good, but extremely rare. Rare enough to not be an option...

In a BG, you have four choices:

Protector's Sword
32-60 Dmg
17.14 DPS
2 Stam
5 Str

Darkwater Talwar
28-53 Dmg
18.47 DPS
A very low % chance of a shadow bolt.
5 Str

Razor's Edge
28-54 Dmg
17.28 DPS
5 Str
2 Hit

Face Smasher
29-55 Dmg
16.27 DPS
3 Stam
5 Str

As you can see, Face Smasher has the most stats of all the choices available, but 3 of them are stam, the least offensive stat. Protector's Sword is by far the easiest to obtain.

The most offensive stats probably belongs to Oggleflint's Inspirer which no one has ever posted the scaled stats of. It no longer drops, but since it's BoE, may be obtainable by GM exploit. Before you say it can't, I have sent BoE items, including those unobtainable by F2Ps in this way.

I've gotten RE from chests. And I have Foreman's Legs on my warrior, which took me since Cata until last Thursday, so I think that a) I might have a clue what I'm talking about, and b) twinking might actually be for me after all.

MM is BiS for all casters. That doesn't mean that anyone who doesn't have it doesn't know what they are doing, are stupid jajas, or that twinking might not be for them.

Absolute BiS and realistic BiS are not necessarily the same thing.

Maybe it's a different item, but a mace with same stats still drops from foreman thistlenettle, or possibly the mobs around him. All I know I've seen that mace countless of times there :p

OT: I'd go with razors edge. Best offensive stats, and that +2 hit might let you pick up some extra strength from other items. Also, might want to check if your race has any weapon specialization: +1% expertise and spell hit if you happen to be using a weapon from the right category :)

I have ALL 4 str one handed weapons besides the fishy. Razor's edge is not hard to get lol.. and that's what I'm currently using. But really what must I take into consideration when it comes to the speed and dps and damage range. If Crusader Strike is the only ability based on weapon damage maybe I should go with an item with a higher damage range? I still don't know!!

The mace you're thinking if is called petrified shinbone, which is 3 stam and 3 crit. It has the same damage range as oggleflints or whatever but with a slightly higher dps and faster speed.

Edit:

You're thinking of Petrified Shinbone - Item - World of Warcraft which doesn't have strength, and isn't the same item level, so would scale differently.
Beat me to it lol

Get Recount. Check what percentage of your damage is from melee attacks like white hits and CS/HotR, and then realize just how irrelevant weapon speed and DPS are on a protadin. Your 1H weapon is effectively a stat stick. Don't forget that you also get 1% expertise, and so spell hit from using hammers and swords. Your paladin isn't hit capped either, at least not since the last time I checked, which I admit, was a while ago. You're probably better off with:

Cookie's Tenderizer
30-57 Dmg
15.69 DPS
3 Stamina
4 Str
3 Hit

Not max str obviously, but as a human, you also get 1% expertise and spell hit from it, making it the most overall stats at the sacrifice of 1 str.

Thanks for the info :) and yeah I know I need hit cap :/ I gots no eyepatch! I'm getting Bravo Company Signet soon but the chain is so long but hopefully well worth it once I get my ring. Speaking of hit cap, would using Cobrahn's Grasp be worth using for the hit and str even tho I lose some stam and crit?
