Playing Ele Sham, Warrior, Rdruid we destroyed a Protpal, Retpal, Priest team and some other comps. So no, with 3 "underpowered" classes, we have beaten one of the most OP classes. Its all dependant on skill.

I've wanted to try out frost mate/rdruid in 2s, played right the two seem to compliment each other very well.

i didnt say winning arena as rdruid is impossible... its just harder. like you said its all depends on skills meaning you might have done well but the other team might have done really bad
i like rdruids.. never said "dont play it cuz it sucks" and i play them too maybe not as much as feral but i still do and its fun

Imo balance is more fun then either spec.

However since starsurge is one of my favorite spells in game I may be slightly biased >.>

i might agree with that but i think druid in general is the most fun class in f2p wow havin so much fun since you can be everything
waiting for moonkin!
