I think part of the reason for long queues is that a lot of people are playing their p2p accounts atm. I'm only one day into my 10 day trial, and I'm considering buying some game time.
After I hit 90, I didn't really do anything in MoP. I didn't want to go through the grind of gearing up.
The new content is good. Garrisons are better than I expected. Ran a bunch of 90 scenarios. Haven't ventured into WoD dungeons yet. Wanted to get a little better gear first. Plus, after nearly a year off, I needed a little refresher. Gonna tank a couple tomorrow.

You know, Protection Paladins, are not too bad, sure, their damage is pretty subpar, but, they more than make up for it with their aggravating silences, combine this with being a Blood Elf, and any healer is going to have some trouble with you, if you coordinate your stuns, Avenger's Shields and Arcane Torrent efficiently.
Also, Protection Paladins still have a bit of survivability left to them, even though their healing is weak compared to Retribution's, they can still heal for days, combine that with their high hp, they are still pretty damn tanky.
Since, every monkey and his uncle is playing Retribution Paladin, I recommend you try something under-rated like Protection.

I dont think so.
I was Prot for whole cata and Mists and planned to stay as Prot in Draenor but it's simply not worth it.
The healing and mp regen is awful, you can't heal for long and any dps will out damage your healing. Damage is not enough to even pressure any target, defense is laughable from any feral/ret/monk perspective, any skilled player can kite you.

They have little damage resistance. They are hit just as hard as any other class and would have to resort to spamming fol and cds because their dps cant keep up.. Ret is the choice of reason.

Hello! I have a few reponses for you.
The healing regeneration is the same as Retribution's.
I think you may be talking about the effective healing.
You can heal the same amount of time Retribution does, the only Dps that could really burst through your healing if you are a smart healer is a Hunter.
Damage may be sub-par, but, this class still has some utility left in her, pair her up with a class like, Feral, Hunter, Balance,Wind walker, etc, and a healer and they are going to have some trouble, Protection's primary use at the moment is to help set-up kills for your team mates, which I still find does it pretty awesomely!
It's defense is pretty low, but, what class is really tanky atm?
If someone is kiting, you should line of sight them.
It is always good to try new things, even if it isn't the flavor of the month, atm.

but I think you are talking about mitigation, look around you in battlegrounds, what class is really that tanky, atm?
Most smart players would not find themselves, in a situation, where they would have to spam FoL to stay alive. Sure their dps is pretty sub-par, but put them with some dps, Protection is really great at setting up kills with other dps.
Retribution, may be what everyone else is playing, but, I don't know about you but, if Duopaladin is playing it, I think it may be time to reroll something else?

Bm monk is kinda tanky, preferably Tauren, Draenei, and dwarves, due to racials.
