Level 19 Achievement Addon [Unreleased]

I am Nekrophiliac (Horde/29), Serathis (Alliance/80) and Töro (Horde/19). I am from <Eat Crit And Die> and you can find me on Bloodhoof@EU. I am a 22 year old software engineer who just loves modding Blizzard games. Introduction out the way... lets get down to business.



I am making an addon for level 19 twinks that adds a new achievement category called "Level 19". Achievement progress and completion saves, you can link achievements to other people using the mod, and I am currently working on a custom title system... but I'll need to find some spare time for that.



The main aim of this addon was to diversify the PvE challenges available to level 19s because there isn't really any in normal WoW, but I really enjoy coding and making game content... and I feel this could give a needed boost to the twinking community, so it is definitely extended to Warsong and Arena.



In an attempt to pay homage to the current twinking community, some achievements are named and/or themed around the active twink guild names. Note that I'm from the EU... so basically your guild is here if I've kicked your ass in a BG recently. What follows is a short summary of what I have so far (guild names in blue):







Level 19
  • General
    • Emerald Twink - Equip a twink item in every slot with a minimum level of 21, unless otherwise specified.
    • This is my Main - Get more than 30 days of /played.
    • Replacement achievements for general achievements unobtainable by twinks such as Master of 19 Arms (weapon skill), Blue Rare and Medium Rawr (rare elite lists), Death in the Afternoon (playing on the Hemet Nesingwary idea, this is a quest list), Children of the Blood (earn exalted status with Tranquillien).
  • Dungeons & Raids
    • The dungeon & raid achievements currently consist of challenging timed dungeon runs that require a twink group to complete, and rare elite lists for dungeons.
  • Arena
    • The arena achievement category is a duplicate of Blizzard's arena achievement category, adjusted for level 19 skirmish arena.
  • Warsong Gulch
    • I III III VII - Win Warsong Gulch without letting anyone in your raid group die.
    • Pop-Up Pirate - Get 20 killing blows without dying in a single battle in Warsong Gulch, while under the effect of Savory Deviate Delight. Yaaarrrr.
    • A number of achievements exist for capturing the flag while in different states (naked, drunk etc).







I am now looking for the community's input on ideas for custom achievements. This includes achievements within every category above... and if you think I need a new category, I can do that too.

Guild leaders, I would like to add more of your names as achievements to obtain (if your guild leader doesn't come on here... discuss it with him!)

Post your ideas here for discussion in this thread. I will try to keep the above list up to date with accepted achievements.







Now... just a couple more questions...

  • Do you use epeen twink arena ratings addon? Did you even know it existed? Will you use it now?
  • How important is it to you that someone can't easily type up their own save file and cheat for these achievements? It will always be a possibility, its a problem inherent with open source scripting like this, but there are a lot of measures I can take to obscure the scripts and savefiles (encrypting etc) that will scare away your average nub wanting to fake achievements. Given that the point of the addon is to provide you and your guild with some fresh challenges, I don't think anyone will be wanting to waste their time by cheating my addon.



Oh and if you read all of that in the hope of finding a link to a download already... nuh uh, not happening yet. However, if you are on Bloodhoof@EU, please DO contact me, because I DO need some testers, but I'd prefer it to be on a more personal level at this point.
 
This is an awesome idea in my opinion.
 
If you got something as fun/cool as this sounds up and running I'd be impressed. And I'm not easily impressed.



The Pop Up Pirate achievement made me grin ;)

Updated with the only proper achievement suggestion.



Although I appreciate the humour in "an achieve to make Pizza AFk", it would be unfair to give an individual player that sort of attention, no matter how pro he is :p Also... kind of strays away from the intention of this addon.



I have built the code used to make these custom achievements using LibStub and it is separated into organised, well documented libraries. Any coder will be able to make use of these libraries, and as such they could be adapted to create a set of guild achievements, a new level of twinking achievements... whatever you like. At the moment I plan on finishing Level 19 and releasing it open source, and I am toying with the idea of developing a Level 80 version (problem with Level 80 is Blizzard care about it enough that my addon could be superseded by official achievement updates, same cannot be said for any level of twinking).

In my opinion, add a couple of 20-30 elite spawns to a black-list-type achievement, eg Stalvan in Duskwood. Also, make achievement for boss kills like current 80 content if possible, something like kill all of the Defias guards of Vancleef within 3 seconds of each other, or pull all the turtle adds in the room of Aku'mai in Blackfathom Deeps.

I was trying to keep some mystery behind the achievements before I release them... but to give you an idea of what I have in the way of elite lists...



Alliance Outran - Defeat the Alliance Outrunners (level 25 elite alliance dudes in the Barrens).

Digmaster Shovelphlange - Defeat Digmaster Shovelphlange (level 39 elite found outside Zul'Gurub).

Blue Rare/Medium Rawr - Kill one/all of the extremely rare and hard to find creatures listed below (most rare elites found throughout the world below level 29 have been added so far, I didn't want the list to get out of hand).

Undercooked/Overcooked - Kill one/all of the extremely rare and hard to find dungeon creatures listed below (all rare elites found within dungeons that level 19 twinks can enter have been added).



Thanks for the ideas for Deadmines/Blackfathom, they have been added.

Uhhh.. its called not crutchign on ghostwolf for a few games..? Everyone did it pre-patch.
 
I have an idea for one.



Bulletproof- Withstand 10,000 (Or some other number if 10,000 is to high) points worth of damage without dieing. Might be fun for FC's
