Legion enchantments for PvP

So, if you're not earning Honor or Conquest to purchase gear any more, how will your equipment contribute to your character's strength in PvP? The answer is... it won't (much).

In Legion, as soon as you zone into a PvP instance, the stats on your gear will be nullified, and you'll be given a pre-determined set of stats that's uniquely configured for your specialization
. Furthermore, any set bonuses, enchants, Legendary bonuses, or trinket effects will be deactivated (although your Artifact and its related Artifact Powers will remain active).

The only contribution your gear will make to your overall power is through a small modifier based on your average item level. For every point that your average item level increases, your pre-determined PvP stats will increase by 0.1%. That means a 25 item level difference between two players only results in a 2.5% difference in stats, compared to the 25% difference it makes today. There’s still a little incentive to improve your gear – a concept we think is important for World of Warcraft – but the benefits are much less pronounced.

So it sounds like we are losing our enchantments for sure since it doesn't specify that only endgame is affected. The new honor system affects endgame only so I'm not sure if the old honor point system will still be available for us.

Yes...
It appears that way for now. Although, we will not know for sure until 7.xx. Or at least until the PTR is available.

I see the pro's and con's of a system like this. Firstly, I think taking away all stats, enchants, trinkets etc takes away some of the fun of twinking. The whole idea is to go searching in the depths of Azeroths dungeons, looking for that 1 rare drop that can make you the envy of all your friends.........., you know, hours of searching to try and get that 1 extra stat of Str, or Ag etc etc
But now, with most Vets & F2P's have a gear level of 24 or 25, there will be all but no motivation to BiS gear up. I think this is a shame.

However on the bright side, I do like the idea of it levelling out the bracket, such that F2P can now compete on the same level as Vet's in PvP. That's a big plus.

The 29's in the bracket will only have a 1% gear advantage, unless our gear still scales in PvP? Interesting to find out if we all scale the same, or will their 35 ilvl give them the extra 1%?

Overall, I'm excited on the one hand to see this bracket being levelled out, but on the other hand, I feel it's a bit sad for twinks who really enjoy the aspect of gearing up :(

Interesting times ahead :D

Hey everyone! So exited to get our PTR group of Testers going, it was great going from MoP to WoD and i just can't wait.

Love yall!

Even though I am paid up through tokens on my subbed accounts for quite some time, this is the first time I am ever really contemplated not purchasing a WoW expansion. And it is mostly is for the reason stated above.
In my time of playing WoW, I have done many things only a exiguious amount of people will get to experience in game. There are only a few things that pique my interest in WoW any more. Gearing up and min/maxing a lowbie is one of them. Blizzard in their infinite wisdom has chosen to take that away from us.
Unless new enchants get added or something new and exciting for PvE or achievements gets added, I may not purchase it and just continue to buy tokens with gold.

Remember the time back then though that u couldn't even lock your xp or join a bg either if the xp was locked.
Really taking away all the enchants and rely on rare drops more... That sounds fascinating! Fine by me.

Well if they want to completely remove the PvP trinket from low level PvP they are fucking retarded, the imbalance will be so unreal for classes like pally with an 8 second invulnerability / cc break vs. a warlock with, well nothing.

Honorable Medallion – This build includes our solution for the “CC break trinket” for low level classes. Upon entering a battleground or arena for the first time, players will learn the “Honorable Medallion” (temp name) spell. This spell removes all movement impairing effects and all effects which cause loss of control of your character while in PvP combat and has a 3 minute cooldown. Players can learn this spell at any level and it resides in the General section of your spell book. The first row of PvP talents then modifies the Honorable Medallion. This will provide the “CC break trinket” mechanic for all levels of PvP player. Feedback on this solution would be appreciated!

EDIT:
These changes also mean no more fc/hp or glass cannon gear, just to point that out.

Everyone gets a PvP cc breaker ability with a 2 minute CD.

If I want to grind gear I'll play diablo. If you can get past the nostalgia of twinking, it's a great idea.

That could be Blizzard's "Master Plan".
Some people got Diablo for free with WoW a while back. That is exactly how a drug dealer works. Gives you the first "hit" for free just to get hooked and then charge you later for subsequent hits.
Blizzard may be wanting to "move" some of those types of players to Diablo. Personally, I have not played Diablo since the very first one came out in 1996. One game is enough for me. I barely have enough time for it.

i wonder if they will remove the XP lock feature in legion. The reason it was implemented was to keep twinkers and lvlers seperated, but now with gear being removed, they might feel its no longer needed. Not that it Matters much, obviously twinking will die either way. Maybe we will get to keep our gear in wargames tho? That would be nice.

Lol I can just imagine ex twinks vs levelers

The whole reason I started twinking was for the appeal of doing research and only gearing up once.
With all the work I put into making my toons...especially my gf'd hunter, this proposed system revamp is disappointing.
RIP.

With every upcoming expansion, we all have had (and will have) to adapt to changes, be it gear, pvp, class etc.
