i was wondering how many pieces of leech gear or what percentage of leech makes you essentially invincible when soloing dungeons. thanks. i apologise if this has already been answered in another thread i just cant be bothered searching.

0 Leech is enough to solo all dungeons.

How much YOU want? Depends on class / spec and how much you pull.
0 Leech was enough for my Vengeance Demon Hunter and as Havoc too (didn't pull too much as Havoc).
10% Leech was fine for my Arcane Mage. (Didn't pull too much too.)
0 Leech was enough for my Assassination Rogue because auf Leeching Poison.

With my shaman im using "2 Sets". One Set with 2 pieces with leech (~12% leech) for masspulls, even I have to cast as an elemental shaman, I never drop lower than 90% of my health. In bossfights i'll use my full dps gear (high ilvl)

Other than what @MyPerfection already said let me give my 2 Copper on the topic. Here's my take after having (7) 101's, of all Armor types.
  • Lowish iLvLs (800-820): You will probably want more Leech, say 10%+ (2-3 pcs).
  • Medium iLvLs (820-850): Likely anything between 0-10% will be fine (0-2 pcs).
  • High iLvLs (850+): Most Classes won't need any Leech for Dungeon clears (1 pc at most).
  • Avoidance: Get 1 pc with it, preferably a Body pc instead of off-pc like Ring (Hard cap is ~564 Avoidance).
  • Speed: You get hit HARD with DR after 110% but what else are you going to stack after you have enough Leech to become basically invincible.

Yes you can get away with 10% leech on an Arcane mage, but it limits you on what you can do. I had around 10% at one point and wasn't able to sell runs in a timely matter. Now that I'm over 30%, I can pull a whole instance if I wanted if I bosses weren't in my way. My suggestions is to get as much as you can, can never have too much. Especially with how hard 110s hit in world PVP and how high miss chance is on casters. That way whatever attack does last, the leech heal with say 40% makes up for the 3 other misses

Well in the end, is it not our goal to kill relatively powerful 110s? If so, we should be getting as much leech for survival as possible without sacrificing too much ilvl. If you can manage to get high ilvl stuff with leech, then you're set.

The key here, as mentioned above, is you are going to be using multiple sets of gear for different things. Since you specifically asked about soloing dungeons I'll talk about my experience. The leech % is going to change for each class in order to give you the same amount of carefree pulling ability. My ret paladin needs zero leech when he switches over to prot, even with no artifact. My frost DK does massive pulls and she usually has about 20% when I do 30+ dungeon mobs at a time. This is primarily because I am casually playing. I can probably pull it off with 0-5% leech but I would have to pay much more attention and focus specific mobs first so I can get my free healing attacks to pop.

If you're doing 1 group at a time you really don't need any leech, no matter the class or spec.

I've tried everything from 0% leech all the way up to 73% leech on my Frost DK, and honestly it depends on what you want to do and how much attention you want to pay to it while doing it.

For example, I can solo Kazzak in Tanaan Jungle with just 15% leech, but I need about 30% leech to solo him while watching Scarface on my second monitor :D

Likewise, running Nelth nonstop for AP is boring as hell, so having something to watch on a second monitor definitely helps make the runs go by faster, but even so it doesn't really require more than 10%-15% leech even if you weren't paying much attention to it. It helps though that the Frost DK has a lot of AOE abilities to call upon which multiply the effectiveness of leech.

But in all cases 73% leech is REALLY overkill, but it was cool seeing that it doesn't have diminishing returns even that high up.
