How much money do you guys need to start the development? is it the 150 dollars you guys have on the donation page or is it more?We won't start development with the server until we have the proper funding to do so. That's basically all that's holding us back at this point.

I think we need alot more information about this project. There is way too little information about how you guys want the server to work, I'd put down all the ideas you've got so far and keep adding so ppl see that there is progress and give some feedback. You guys will also need to tell us more about where the money will go. The only information I've got so far is that mop core is buggy and expensive, the rest I've been forced to ask about.
There is simply way too little information out there for you guys to say that funding is the only thing holding you back unless you plan to get funding from elsewhere.
No further information has been given because there is none to be given. We decided to go with MoP because an overwhelming majority of the community wanted just that, but we don't have the money to even begin development on a MoP core, much less begin to worry about other areas of the project. We have to take this one step at a time, and we can't even begin the first step yet. I'm not entirely sure how much it would cost to get things going, as I am not a part of the development team. I'm a Cyber Security Specialist / PenTester/ Web Developer / Batch Scripter (and a mediocre programmer). My knowledge of Server Development is quite limited (especially with MoP cores), so that question would likely be one for a member of the development team.
We're not withholding any information about this project, in fact you could join the Server Staff channel on my XPOFF Discord server and see for yourself that the channel has been virtually dead for the last few weeks. There's nothing really to be discussed at this point, we need funding to begin working with the core, and until we start that we won't have any answers. Again, my primary concern is with the website. I play a lead administrative role with the server staff as well, but I'm not exactly part of the development team, so they may have a better idea than I would. I'm just simply trying to respond to your concerns to the best of my ability, based off the information that I personally have.
Can you please make up your mind and start being somewhat Professional about this project that will be the future of twinking according to you? So far it seems like everyone of you involved has a different understanding on like everything that is related to this server. Ppl have been left with missinformation, vague statements and a donation link on page xy with a donation goal of 150$... nobody has a fucking clue if this p server is even a thing anymore and you are doing your best to make it even worse. As it’s been stated by the OP, the financial situation is a barrier we expect will arise during development, but it shouldn’t stop us from getting started.
Thank you! This is the kind of things I longed for, keep it up.Well hello there.
I'm usually the silent type but since there is a bit of confusion about the project I would like to clear some things up.
Well atleast I hope. If you have any questions be sure to ask them.
After the community poll we started discussing on the overwhelming call for a Mists of Pandaria server, As you may or may not know. Mop has the most underdeveloped core options.
Basically, Only two. Simply said that this will not be a walk in the park.
Yet seeing the direction the community wants to go to we have decided that it will be worth it.
So what is happening at this moment?
At this moment we are in the progress of setting up the two main options we have to provide a MoP server. Under the name of Skyfire Project & Jadecore. Both have their pro and cons. While one looks a bit better, the other one is more active and has a larger development community behind it.
Once we have those two cores setup we will see for ourselves what will be easier to work with.
What essential features are missing or bugged and how what core is written better.
You most know that every developer or team has a certain style of coding, Some may work with hack fixes while other may prefer to only work in the "correct" way.
These are all things that matter in a project with an eye on the future, And that is exactly what the Xpoff team stands for. A long lasting project.
Once the choice of core has been made, and this progress could and should take a while we will be able to start the actual development of the server. But for now, Information is power.
We need to know what is working, what could work and what wont in order to even start.
Our team is eager to deliver a quality twinking experience and for that we thank you for your understanding and patients in this matter.
Best regards.
