Is eng/alc the best proffs combo to retain still?

Which is the trinket that can provide +10 Ag? It sounds too good to be true.

Figurine - Emerald Boar

With relic of the past it drops down to +4 Agility, but with 2 sockets you can have an extra +6 agility to bring it up +10 agility. Also works for Strength classes too.

I have it equipped on my 20 druid Carthage

It is a Northrend recipe, +40 points to unlock the recipe, and +25 points to equip.

Also - Blizzard used to have an option to restore your professions like lost items if i remember correctly. Does anyone know if this is still a thing?

Yes and no.

What you're vaguely recalling are tomes that are expansion specific, because with Legion (and forward), professions were heavily quest-based in their native progression, meaning if you dropped the profession, you wouldn't be able to re-learn a lot of the stuff, because hey, you had already completed the quests.

So these tomes were added as a fail-safe so that people could swap professions without being royally fucked. You will however lose literally everything else. Your levels, every pre-legion recipe etc. So don't think of it as a free pass to swap between professions, because that will leave you incredibly screwed.

Yes, a terrible idea to a terrible way of handling professions in the first place (wait, Blizzard messed up this badly? Shocker). This is also why they left idea of having professions being heavily reliant on quests for the future.

Yet alchemy still gives +11 agil and you lose out on PvP trinket if you want to use dragon for the huge 2ndary stacking. No thanks.

I'd honestly say go through all of the professions, hoard all the BoP stuff and then end up with whichever professions you prefer in the end. What I do know is that you have the chance to get your hands on some stuff now, and who knows what the future brings. If twinking has taught me one thing, it's to be a god damn hoarder, and be prepared.

Oh if only you knew me...

Yes though, I do recommend getting everything (BoP more importantly) that you can if you really care that much about your toon; I did all of that shit the second night of the pre-patch. I don't think any of it is really that important in the grand scheme of things though.

If you're just looking for a queue bot that you can log into on a Friday night for a couple BGs with the boys it doesn't really matter a whole lot. That's what a lot (like 90+%) of vet toons are for, casual BGs.

There are PvP twinks and then there are trophy twinks.

Is it the flask you are talking about, or is it a different alchemy specific buff?

I only got +9 agility when I tested the flask on a 20 hunter.

I have tested the flask on an intellect class and got +9 too. The strange thing with the intellect class was that it said +9 on the tooltip, but changed my stats by +10. It did not do this with the hunter.

It scales to 11 in bgs xd.

It scales to 12, I just tested it on my hunter.

For agility build I would still prefer engi + jewelcrafting trinket + elixir over engi + Alchemy flask. One gets 7 more agility from trinket/elixir combo.

Not all classes will benefit from the figurines, but for agility ones with stealth I think it is a strong build.

So you'd rather 7 agility over a meta slot, 20 total secondaries, and a PvP trinket that breaks cc?

Again, no thanks.

Sorry I am not sure what you mean by 20 total secondaries? But yes for my class and spec I am happy to lose out on a fear/stun breaker cos most other cc I can shapeshift out of, but like I said not all classes will benefit from the figurine.

Every stack of elixirs is one less stack of more useful things like disco rays

It's a tough call, like enchant oils I just have to make them on demand.

The engineering helm that gives a meta and 2 cogwheel sockets.

Although, couldn't necessarily go wrong with a good ilvl 28 BoE, not sure how I feel about losing a meta gem though.

I would make sure to stock up on dense sharpening stones as melee as well, I was doing some testing on my rogue with gloomd blade (47% ap ratio) pretty clsoe to 50% and the +2 stones raise its damage by 11. so thats around 22 ap if I am thinking about this correctly, plus 3's boost it be around 13 damage.

Unless I am wrong with how it all works just basing this off numbers in game.

Oh, I still have engi as No.1 profession without a doubt. I have the helm but I don't equip as I think Raven-Heart Headdress is a better option for my spec. The cogwheels only give +2% per secondary, and although the stun reduction meta is nice, as a stealth class I don't have a heavy reliance on cc breakers.

There’s a meta that gives +12 crit. 12 crit will be more beneficial than any 3 main stat or 2/2 gem you’ll find, regardless of class.

Can you name which meta that is? I thought I had all the Northrend recipes, and the best I can find is +2 agility and 3% increased critical effect, which as a combination with 2 cogwheels I don't find better than 3 x +3 agility gems. I would rather have 9 more agility than more secondary stats by 2-4%.

EDIT: Nevermind I found it, tense unstable diamond - an apex shard reward from blade edge mountains. I still prefer +9 agility over +22 crit (12 + 10, I already use 1 x +10crit cogwheel on ghost iron dragonling). I can offset some of the 4% crit in other slots, I can't replace +9 agility though. I still believe rave-heart headdress is better than wastewalker helm or agile bio-optic killshades.

If you are vet, the BIS combinations should be alchemy/engineering.... By using the farm în Halfhill for the Basic mats, you can craft living Steel, and also Sky Golem, that can be sold when you get game time, for some gold boost

Don't want to create another topic, so ask here: is there any viable flask that effect persists through death? Other than Alchemy Flask
