Asking because i know you can get an inscription shoulder enchant if you retain inscription. Alchemy gives you a flask. Does engineering give you anything that requires engineering?

Cogwheel helm, mechanical dragonling? The belt enchant presumably you can get someone else to do for you now. Am i missing something here?

cogwheels require that you maintain lvl 75 cata engi, and the tinkers all require that you at least have lvl 1 in their respective xpac engi skills. So keep engi.

Alch is good for the flask and as it only requires lvl 1 to use, you can drop alch to pick up other profs when you need to. I suppose if you really want that shoulder enchant, you can use elixirs in place of the flask and either drop inscription to level herb, then drop herb to level alch and make more elixirs as you need to.

I'm still subbed and not queing into BGs. Are cogwheel helms the meta right now? Oh, so you mean i need +1 for lets say minituriazed plasma shield? Is there anything else besides this that i should be considering? I doubt i'll drop eng.

Also - Blizzard used to have an option to restore your professions like lost items if i remember correctly. Does anyone know if this is still a thing?

I think its something like 3 ap 2 crit. Or 2 str 2 crit or mastery or so.
You can however. Little did i know equip the dragonling on a char that doesent have engi. If you equip and buy the gems on a char that has cata eng 75. Just put in your desired gems. And you can use it without engi. And yes the stats do function, atleast they did earlier in the prepatch

Interesting. So Scribes don't have to do the shoulder enchant glitch anymore?

The thing is that the inscription enchant needs you to have inscription skill. whereas the dragonling doesen't need any requirements. Except the previous mentioned ones. but then again you will lose your tinkers and bombs/goggles. and the old shoulder enchants is GF'd since they now have level reqs unless u do it on a BoA i guess. but you could go like the blood of sargeras or the different loot ones from legion

I’m leaning towards Engi + Inscription, based on that shoulder enchant which I didn’t know about.

Alchemy isn’t that great if you plan on using Elixirs, which provide better stats than Alchemist’s Flask but are expensive and have to be re-applied every hour/on death.

25/35range nets which not a magic debuff (so can't be dispelled). Pretty cool against any melee and for chasing guys on mounts.

TBC/WoTLK nets are easies to get, can be crafter at 1 skill. Cata nets will deal some dmg but afak this one can be dispelled, plus cata's cloth is much harder to get without AH, so i ignored this one net type.

Before you settle for professions, you can get Panadarian leatherworking embossments for your legs, only need Leatherworking skill at 1 to get them, I can confirm the embossment still work once you remove leatherworking too.

Jewelcrafting allows you to make the figurine trinkets using relics of the past that have 2 sockets. For agility classes, the figurine is BiS imo, can give +10 agility (also +1 AP for socket bonus). Also gives you a boar pet that will fight for you for a small amount of time. However you need to keep jewel crafting to equip.

We need a sticky with profession info, what you can get with each profession, if you need to keep it or can drop it, etc...

Feel free to spend the hours needed to write a comprehensive, easy to read guide on what professions come with what benefits (most of which you'll have to research yourself because we're still dealing with incomplete information) and we'll sticky it.

And then nobody will read it and still ask the same questions over and over again about what professions are best.

Engi/Inscription. There are stronger elixirs than Alchemy Flask.

Which is the trinket that can provide +10 Ag? It sounds too good to be true.
