ilvl 35 droppable?

BoE rares that are world drops scale 15/20/25 for armor with +8 ilvls and weapons/shield/oh scale 12/17/22/27 with +8 ilvls. I’ve seen lvl 17 weps with ilvl 25, and I personally have a Searing Blade lvl 27 ilvl 35 and Amy's Blanket lvl 25 ilvl 33

Yo Yapah, can you please elaborate a little on that, this scaling shit is so weird.
- Does every gear that you loot scale to your lvl? No matter if it's looted in dungeon from a mob, from a chest or in the open world?
- And if so does that mean that my lvl 19 twink can just go to a high lvl zone, with help from a friend, kill rares in hopes of BoE's dropping and scaling down to 19?
- Will the ilvl of the scaled items always have a certain value compared to their req lvl?
- Are there exceptions of items that doesn't scale?

From what I know, chest drops don’t scale, this is useful for farming items like Demon Band where unscaled versions are BiS.
Dungeon specific drops like Shadowfang scale to your exact level. Idk how the exact scaling works, but ik at 19 SF is ilvl 23, 20 its ilvl 23, 29 its ilvl 31. At higher levels the level req and ilvl close the gap.
In order to loot mobs in the open world, they need to be your level. So if you’re a 19 you’re best bet to get high lvl blues scaled down would be a 20-60 zone like ashenvale. Even then the mobs in ashenvale were only lvl 25-26ish before scaling so they might drop some blues lvl 20-25 possibly scaled to 15 or 17 with +8 ilvls.
29s have more opportunities for scaling because they can loot from 30-60 zones. Southern STV has level 40ish mobs that scale down, which have potential to drop really good blues in the 30-40 range scaled to 25/27. From what I heard, a level 27 ilvl 40 Underworld Band has been confirmed, so in theory lvl 35-40 epics could scale down to lvl 27/28 with +13 ilvls.
How items scale is 10/15/20 for armor and 12/17/22 for weps with +8 ilvls for world drop blues. World drop epics are 27/32/37 for armor and 28/33/38 for weps with +13 ilvls. Scaled dung drops for blues start at +4 ilvls and go to -2 ilvls at 60, (+4 at 19, +3 at 20, +2 at 29). Greens scale +3 ilvls and are generally not worth looking at. Drops are occassionally scaled and sometimes unscaled, idk why.

What does this mean? What determines whether an item is 10/15/20?

Your current level determines the stats of an item and its item level. For example, someone who is level 20 receives an item relative to level 20, and someone with level 29 receives an item relative to level 29. For instance, if level 20 gets an item which has 7 intellect and 10 armor, the level 29 will get 13 intellect and 19 armor. (Just an example).

I still don't get what the 10/15/20 means, does it mean that item scales in intervals or what?

(Numbers are not exact) Yeah like for example if I'm level 20 I get 10 armor, level 25 gets 15, level 29 gets 20, so the armor increases proportionally to your level. I don't know everything about this, but I know the basics so if you want more in-depth information I'm not the guy.

Yes items scale in intervals. Rare world drops will always be level 15(ilvl23), 20(ilvl28), 25(ilvl33), ect if its armor, and it will always be lvl 17(ilvl25), lvl 22(ilvl30), lvl 27(ilvl35) for weps/shield/oh.

Ahh cool, and what determines what lvl the BoE will be in? For instance if I'm lvl 17, will I then get the lvl 15 or 20 one?

I haven't looked into it that far yet, but if you're farming for lvl 15 armor and 17 weps, it probably wont be best on a 19 since the armor might scale to 20 instead. So a 15-17 might be best, but then you're missing out on the 20-60 zones and might be stuck to 15-60 zones like hillsbrad

Unless you have a screen shot from in game/I've personally seen it, meh probably not real... wowhead can show you items that are not actually obtainable and a lot of forum pictures are just those... screen captures from wowhead and not anything somebody really found.
"Has been confirmed" means you have a screen shot/video/its on a char in an armory... not the words "has been confirmed".
