Ideas On Which Class I Should Roll?

As you guys may know, I'm looking to start up a new 29 and sit my gfd ones down for a bit. I'm really feeling like playing a rdps with dots as normally in the 19s bracket I play healers and bench my beautiful baby rogue. It appears that in 29s we have the numbers for me to not HAVE to take one for the team and play healers. I don't want to be rolling the most op / fotm as I have 0 interest in that.

Looking for opinions on an effective but not ridiculous 1 shot your face off dps. I focus more on utility and objectives than damage charts and containing and/or chopping mid fights aren't really what I'm looking for either.

My initial thought was running a demo lock or a disc priest. Would love some insight as to where I should go!

Thank you!
Mocha

Warlocks are an enjoyment even the in the 19 bracket. Affliction you have dots and shadowbolt but demo is fun with the mobility from the form, also fears so they are a great addition to a team. I'm also going into the 29 bracket as the 19s bracket lacks bg pops, so I'm rolling an affliction lock or a mage.

I didn't have too much fun with this T-T

Only way I would have more fun would probably to stack massive haste. Wasn't digging the 1.9 cast on frostbolt. Would DEFINITELY need ice flows. In the games I played there wasn't a formal mid chop or anything so basically casting from the back wasn't an option.

Also to note, not looking for premades, just casual pugs.

29?
Dmg is shit, fishing for procs with long fbolt casts is miserable. But the toolkit in the face of lots of melee is so much fun. If there is a big melee team I play right up in their face to control them and sheep/cs heals. They focus me because I'm a squishy mage and just frustrated making them focus me harder.

I'd go boomie if not Mage.

Shadow Priest is quite fun and a good pug class since they have pretty good off-heals and you are not so dependent on helpful teammates. Good utility with off heals as well.

I guess if you had to classify any caster as FOTM it would be priests though.

How is Fire Mage? It looks like almost all mage's go frost or arcane, even though the spell set for Fire looks pretty decent with good mobility and whatnot. is it just that they have shit DPS?

Hunter is nice for soloqueing. Resilient, able to lock out melees as well as casters, can kill shit ferals with ease (so 99% of them), and sometimes BMs if you're in luck.

Survival hunter is the way to go. Just stack AGI/CRIT and you will rock. It won't be long until everyone is rolling 29 hunters again. They make a great support class and can deal some damage. Good luck!

Is this fun fun? I miss running flags! QQ

I just don't want to be getting blown to pieces by ___insert_class_here___ but again I haven't spent too much time 20-29

There is less "dead in a GCD" type stuff at 29 then in 19's. Well geared 29 Guardians are fairly durable. Honestly though I bet resto would be a better FC. I find myself stuck on FC duty on my Ret pretty often and it would be good to have more dedicated FC's on horde side.

boomkin would probs be your best bet.

It is a good time to be had solo Quing :D It is not as OP as 29 feral/resto fc, but you are also fcing against a team of Jajas at times. Because of this, i really enjoy 20 p2p guardian due to the fact that you are not ridiculously OP, but you can compete with 29 resto/guardian/feral druids. For example, the other day I was FCing against a geared 29 rdruid. He ran into me in mid and tried going kitty to kill me, and I simply outran him with my max move speed, even when he chased after me in travel form, putting him in an awful position and giving me the cap :p so stuff like that. nothing super OP and slightly gimping youself with lack of dash and a glyph, but still very fun with a mongoloid anti-melee build. You take a lot less dmg from melee, and then hope you outrun the ranged :D
edit: gargoyle's bite OP :D

We need more wizards. Just don't go shadow, and you'll get along ok. I'd like to recommend nelf mage. Your goal as a 29 in pugs is to troll the f2p bracket as hard as you can. The game plan is to sheep people until DR, slow them, when they catch up, blink and blazing speed away, and when they finally think they've got you—smeld.
