Sorry Neon buddy, truth is subjective. Someone once famously said "your focus determines your reality".
Nobody owns any bracket. 29s are fortunate that they get lots of pops now, and we're fortunate that Blizzard created the F2P model. I find gratitude to be an impressive human quality, and I find its opposite--entitlement--to be rather repulsive. Just food for thought, for all of us.
29s are part of the problem, they are fortunate they get to faceroll clutter. I guess we each have different methods of fun, competition there is none.
From my perspective / experience, there is no faceroll anymore. I really can't imagine why you're still getting facerolled. I gotta go to bed, but, just try to appreciate what you have.
^ R1 competitive "I Quit" thread creation.
Idk, I thought you did really good on the "I quit" thread creation, its the follow-through that you're losing points on.

1. Recognizing there's a handicap between people who have the best items available and those who don't.
2. Overcoming said handicap by getting the best items available.
3. Competing against those players in fair and balanced pvp.
I agree. Mind if I tell you guys a little story?
Once upon a time BGs were much simpler. The brackets were divided by intervals of 10, making up the 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, ect (there was a time before than when things were 10-20, 21-30, 31-40,ect, but we won't get into that). During those times, BGs weren't segregated and they didn't reward experience. Very few people actually did BGs because you were basically pausing your character's progression to do them, often time for very trivial rewards.
The people who did do BGs, fell into two categories: twinks, and people who queued up for BGs just to see what they're like. We call those people looky-loos. You know, the kind of people who will drive really slow by an accident just to see what's going on. Back then, twinking was about three things:
1. Recognizing there's a handicap between people who have the best items available and those who don't.
2. Overcoming said handicap by getting the best items available.
3. Competing against those players in fair and balanced pvp.
You see, 29s used to face level 20 players in BGs all day long. And level 22 players, level 25 players. Players with half their gear slots missing or full of white items. Players with unspent talents and unlearned spell ranks. Occasionally, we'd run into a player who has his level 21 character completely decked out in chants and random blue gear. Try as they might, they would not be able to compete with actual twinks because they lacked the levels, gear, enchants, ability ranks, and talents needed to be competitive. In short, they were the bottom feeders of the twinking brackets and people treated them as such.
Nevertheless, these players would fill BG chat with insults aimed at those who actually worked to obtain the best stuff possible for their toons, and the forums were filled with drama started by these insults. We called these players non-twinks, because they simply didn't have the spirit of a twink, and certainly didn't put effort into making actual twinks. Instead, they opted to complain about twinks ruining their BGs. They pined for games where twinks weren't allowed to exist, where they could just 'have fun,' completely ignoring the fact that they could get all the same items that a twink could get.
That the only thing holding those players back was their own ignorance and stubborn refusal to play the game the way it was intended to be played.
Fast forward to the current state of affairs. Where twinking has been through a wild ride of expansion content and face lifts, but still comes down to those three things I mentioned before:
1. Recognizing there's a handicap between people who have the best items available and those who don't.
2. Overcoming said handicap by getting the best items available.
3. Competing against those players in fair and balanced pvp.
We're back to where things used to be, we've come full circle. Except the people complaining about 'twinks' want to call themselves twinks, even though they aren't living up to the spirit of twinking. They aren't trying to get the best items available in their bracket. They are flat out ignoring the handicap that exists between them and actual twinks, instead calling them names and filling up the forums with posts about how twinks are ruining things.
Now that the past is repeating itself, I'm going to tell you what I used to tell the bottom feeders we dealt with back then: we are 29s. We exist as the twinks of this bracket. We are here to compete with other 29s. You can eliminate your handicap by buying the full game and leveling to 29, obtaining all the same items that we 29s can obtain.
You can become twinks, and fight us on equal terms. Otherwise, you've doomed yourselves to being fodder to the biggest fish in the pond, scaling or not. I won't feel pity for those who make the wrong decision, nor will I slow down as I travel over the speed bumps they become.
And the BiS 29s lived happily ever after!
The End.
Do what you want but I already know I would be one of the best 29s if I rolled one, the reason I am 20 is because I strive for competitiveness, in a bracket where all the respectable players are f2p, coming in with unobtainable things just takes the skill right out of it.

Ruining what, exactly? A terrible bracket where bottom feeders have fed on new players who aren't even aware of twinking? Yeah, wouldn't want to ruin that paradise.![]()
Yup, just throw your hands in the air because you refuse to obtain the same stuff to be competitive. There aren't any truly unobtainable items (outside of the few GF items that still matter), you just don't want to buy game/level to 29 to get them. Let's be perfectly clear that it's a personal 'want' issue, not a game design issue.
You're not a twink because you insist on gimping yourself at level 20 instead of getting on our level. 'Ganking' has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion. We've been playing 29 vs 29 for years now, just because you've been put into the same bracket by Blizzard doesn't mean our intentions all of a sudden become about ganking. We still want competitive games between 29s. We just don't give a damn about 20s because they refuse to do what it takes to be competitive.
That will never happen with F2Ps, it was never the case when starter accounts were first created, and it never will be so long as level 20 is the starter account limit and put into the same bracket with higher level players. You will always be the bottom of someone else's bracket. You need to accept that and move on.

My dream is for a bracket of all twinks the same level with competitive games that leave you on the edge of the seat.
