Hunting down the hacker

Well to start I assume he would have to know at least Sneaky's full name, date of birth, country of origin, phone number, address and likely credit/debit card number. Blizzard's phone security isn't so lax that someone can call in and be like "HEY LOL IM FIRST NAME LAST NAME PLS RESET MY PASSWORD LOL HERE'S A DOCUMENT TO BACK IT UP".

That being said, I'm tracking down the guy that did it. I have enough information on the guy to legitimize Sneaky's claims against him.

I was hacked, all I had to do was to answer my secret question and send in a picture of my id.

Blizzards phone security is surprisingly super lax lol.

How was Bagel hacked? Or was it the same guy hacking Bagel?

I don't know the details of Bagel's hacking, if it was the same guy it's likely the same scam. It's near impossible to "hack" Blizzard's servers and enter the accounts of its users without generating huge red flags with the public.

No, he did not know my date of birth, country of origin, phone number, address or credit card (oh and most of that information on my account is false, it's a US address). These pieces of information are whited out partially by asterisks on your account so if a hacker was to log into your account managment page he wouldn't be able to glean all this information. The ONLY thing he knew was my real life name.

And yeah...Blizzard's phone security IS that lax. As long as you have ID, and you sound convincing, you can get a lot of things done.

Then in light of that fact, this is a report that needs generated and sent to Blizzard.

I'll test it and report it to them if I can make it work. I've never done it, but I feel like there's still a bit more involved in getting phone support to give out information to reset an account password. If not, they have a HUGE flaw in their security.

I once had to remove my authenticator and I had to give them my full name address on the account and give them proof of id

I'll be on the phone with them. I intend to show them how easy it seems to be to exploit and gain access to another person's account through phone support. By all of your logic and experience, I should have access to Reckful's account given that I know his name and email address.

If u get ur account bak u should add that mobile account management shit if u lose access to ur account basically just send a text and reset everything lol... maybe that's what he did and that's how he has continued access to ur account :)

I seriously cannot engage in a successful conversation with you as long as your avatar depicts my wife in that manner. That picture is such a distraction that I cannot possibly form a cohesive thought.

Well played sir, well played.

ya know, major crimes gets solved quicker than this. zzZZzz

We take that sort of thing very seriously.

i'm glad to hear that, i'd hate to think anyone would think it funny o_O

just because you don't take it seriously, doesn't mean you that you think it's funny.. just sayin

that went right over your head didn't it... just saying.

From my understanding blizz locks your account when a login is attempted from a different IP, however, if this was bi-passed, I would assume that you would be dealing with a skilled individual.
