hunters being sabotaged?

seen less sabotaging lately but a lot more toxicity aimed at hunters (of all specs) with one person saying the sanctions against iran need to be removed and given to losers who play hunters instead
 
Since the dawn of time, Hunters have been the punching bag of the community (Understandable of course). Ranging from the classic "This is a hunter weapon, now its my property", "Hunter pets aggroing everything in the instance", "What is the best hunter pet?".
And now this, I just cant get enough, its like music to me.

Yeeaaahh....hunters deserve some of what's thrown their way. A little.

So, as I can understand, many of you would expect hunters to give up on this class and roll another because hunter is OP. If you’re after fair and even games then this may be a reasonable expectation. However, this requires self-sacrifice on the hunters’ side. Self-sacrifice for the common good. A noble act. Unfortunately, I can see very few examples of this in real life. So why would it work differently in a game? Actually, I do not know of people who have sacrificed their ilv49 weapons or ilv44 necks etc. for the common good and even games, showing a good example for hunters. I admit, I do not sacrifice my twink gear if I’m up against levelers in BG. Should I? People usually try to be the best, which I think is coded in our DNA. So, self-sacrifice seems to be very difficult for us because it is against our instincts. Therefore, I can understand people playing hunters, driving good cars, winning contests by not sacrificing their talents, wearing jewellery, eating organic food when thousands of children are starving to death. All of us are guilty or none of us. Which is it then?
 
i think this thread proves self sacrifice isn't necessary. we can sacrifice em ourselves if we work together.

I'm not going to lie, when I got started making my twinks last month (I'm new to the community here) I made a Alliance & Horde Hunter. Not because I knew they were OP but because it's been my main class since BC and I enjoy it the most. But I did diversify and I made multiple toons from other classes. It's not giving up on the Hunter, or playing it less to get less hate, but because I enjoy other classes. I don't think it would be horrible if they somehow nerfed lvl20 Hunter abilities, make it more even, but I suppose thats more difficult to do than we think.

It's not really clear what they want. I mean, if anyone expects anyone else to stop playing a spec because it is too strong, they are a little nuts. It's just "you suck, you are carried by your spec, you wouldn't be able to play a real spec because you are bad" and other incoherent noise which everyone knows is just pointless.

There are ways to have fair games - wargames. But noooooooo, better to whine, that's easier. Best of all, if Blizzard suddenly nerf hunters, the whine will likely simply move to other specs or to things like gf items (or premades, this particular whine never seems to stop).
 
id rather fight a monk or druid using ilevel 49 shit than a hunter with 34 ilevel so thats barely even comparable lol. the typical argument being used by hunters in this thread is weak, as weak as the mind of a person who felt compelled to twink a hunter

People are really missing this as an option.

i haven’t played a random bg in almost 3 weeks. It rules. My pvp itch is scratched by playing arena and wsg WGs. I had more fun getting curb stomped by Dizzs super team for 4 hours than I’ve had playing randoms all xpac. TF can put together round robin 2s and 3s on almost any given night. We play alot of them.

a lot of that comes down to there being at least a moderate attempt to limit class stacking. Class diversity is just more fun. And! you don’t have to worry about sweaty try hards because hey! everyones a sweaty try hard!

i know that’s not a solution that works for everyone. Playing wargames isn’t the casual experience people are looking for and a lot of you are really oddly obsessed with solo queing so i guess that means no WGs

But it’s a better solution than whining about a specific class or premades or whatever. Again. For going on 16 years now.

in the aforementioned arenas, i actually do. We’re trying to get reps in without GFd gear since that seems to be get competitive standard going forward. But it’s not as huge a factor as people are making it out to be. I’m still getting 2200 Sudden Death procs with an ilvl 34

Honestly have yet to see a hunter in the 29s that is even slightly impressive. Doing double damage or being pocket healed because its the best tactical option for me, is also not impressive. Most of the time I'm just disappointed seeing the end results for being so broken.

The tool kit is IDIOT proof... that is the problem as discussed before... you can be SHIT and he 99.0% as good as somebody who is incredible... so you can't tell at the 29s. You are not making end game decisions, etc... you are pressing 4-5 buttons and putting up a shield that saves you from your own stupidity almost 100% of the time.

Yes, they are worth healing because they are at least twinking (even though that causes some vomit to come up into my mouth).
 
I play mostly mm hunters.. I can't play bm well.. and gave up surv long ago. So many years in bg I can say this: there are many hunters, but the bulk of them cannot play mm well.. As a mm hunter, I always target the mm hunters from the opposite team first (if they are without the support of their heals) in any bgs. People lump all hunters into one, that should not be the case, among hunters, like I said, most can't play well. During legion, there was a particularly good 101 elem shaman, I watched some of his videos and was pretty interested in the op'ness of an elem shaman, I have a sham that is even better geared than his, but no matter how much I tried, I can't bring it up to his level.. he must have constantly refined his play, to such "perfection". If anyone thinks just having top gears alone does the job, no, it doesn't, if it does my top end gear sham would not have under perform in bg. There was another horde lvl20 pally.. Geared with only full +3 str.. When he faced my gf'd 5str/6stam lvl28 fdk in bg, he is able to half my health, it is this kind of players who had master their class to such a lvl that is admirable. The only reason why I had an advantage over him, besides having full 5/6 is I play ret pally too, so I know exactly what he is going to do.

70% of hunters in bg pose no serious threat.. And if you are neutralized by the remaining 30%, then you will likely be neutralized by the top 30% of any top players in their respective classes.. so, the problem is really not "them" (30%)

We are not talking about "ALL hunters" obviously... F2P wearing crate gear or levelers are obviously not the problem and are not even relevant to the conversation.

This is not BFA... in shadowlands all you have to do is get in i34 a bramble staff and a bunch of BC gear with +3 gems and press buttons and you do 50% of somebodies HP even if you are pressing random keys. That "skill matters" bullshit is not relevant for hunters... for everybody else sure. It's just math... these conversations are stupid. You do 50% more damage than everybody else in SL unless you are terrible... end of story. If somebody has an i49 they are automatically on "beyond S tier" level (which did not even exist in BFA).

its bg .. if you cannot 1v1 someone, you can always 4 or 5v1 .. no one survives a 4v1 .. unless the 4 are really crappy .. if your team doesnt understand how to bring down 1 strong player fast (or healer), then the problem is your team

its a different story if the opposite team has 4 hunters with 4 ilvl49
