Hunter BiS

hmm hogger trousers should be best because of the hit rating on it, dont put ring of precision on your chardev oreslse IAT is so going to rage at you :p

Wrong head piece. Ally only from a stocks quest. For Horde BiS is the Lucky Fishing Hat.

If you aren't hit capped you should use Hogger's Trousers, 9 agi/hit.

AGM for one of the trinket slots.

MH/OH are something I'm curious about as well for BiS.

Bout all that I think I know myself. Maybe someone more informed will step in for a full deal.

Meep! Didn't see it was BoE.

Thanks for the advice guys, this is what I have now:

chardev 8 - WoW Cataclysm

I'm struggling on the 2nd ring, not sure if there is a better one from a quest reward.

Horde is not able to get Dissector also Naga Heartpiercer is bis.

I also would drop that boa chest for the boa leather one with hit and drop the hogger legs for more stamina/crit and get the staff of jordan wich gets you capped (perhaps boa shoulders or bfd ring). You don't need the mail boa's you are a hunter unless you want to go for max crit or melee juggernauting. I would go and find a good balance between all stats with all the cc a hunter has.

The mail BoAs have armor as if they were mail despite being labeled as leather, so there's that. I still got the leather BoA chest since I only use him when 24s are running rampant and I'd like to be as hit capped as I can against them.

Doesn't matter if they have more armor, think a little.. why does a hunter needs armor? It's the best way to hit cap your toon to use leather boa chest combined with gsoj :)

Makes me wonder how you hit cap yourself Spryness without decreasing other stats ^^

No need to be insulting with the "think a little". It's there and can make you consider free stats if the hit or crit are on par. Same reason we have armor kits.

I haven't capped myself, but I have a decent amount 8.3% hit. Standard items, usually. Soloraids @ Cenarius - Game - World of Warcraft

It is not an insult at all, maby if you take it out context like you do same as assuming and quoting me i don't have a clue about the mail boa's having more armor. It's just a pointer towards the right direction to gear a hunter... on horde and it seems you still didn't "think" about it (it's not an insult). I have taken it in considderation about the mail versions but it's simply not the best way to go for a horde hunter to get bis and getting hit capped at the same time.

Hunters are a range class, then hit cap, agi, sta(,crit) > then a little armor wich you don't need as a range class called hunter is what you have to considder aka think about.

Going the way i said earlier in this thread is the best way to go for a horde hunter... feel free to bring a counter argument.

oh that was directed at OP. Sorry if it looked like I was directing it at you.

It's not really comparable. Suggesting that the extra armor is useful is not the same as telling someone to think harder for even mentioning it.

I'll elaborate on the purpose of my post (the reason for remembering the armor is there). The staff of jordan mixed with shadowcraft tunic gives 14 hit, 3 over cap for 20s. Getting the staff of jordan, then eventually getting shadowcraft spaulders (instead of the shadowcraft tunic) places that character at an exact hit cap. The reward is free bonus armor from the chest being the mail version. Thanks to spaulders of the hero, the character is capped the moment they get the BoA staff.

My case for having excessive hit is special as people aren't typically gearing specifically for 24s.

See Spryness, i knew you could do it :p Just needs a little "thinking" and you brought another good option for horde hunters.

Might even be best to go for both, boa shoulders and chest, for hit and get some weapons with agi instead of gsoj. What ya think? You will be at hit cap but lose some stamina and resi from gsoj but gain some agi from other weapon(s) :)

The difference would be (assuming horde and no BoEs):

SoJ+BoA mail chest:

73 armor

5 stamina

7 resilience

Bigger raptor strikes

2x Wicked Dagger + dual shadowcraft BoA:

6 agility

1 crit

It would all depend on how much the player values survival stats over damage. In arenas, I'd go with the SoJ + Mail BoA chest. I'd probably prefer the stamina/resilience/armor for BGs as well, at least until LFH.

<Insert off-topic rant about heirlooms being BS as BiS here>
