This. The common version you will find is the level 18 ilvl 23 version which have 8 agi 7 stam. The better item you will find is level 19 or 20 slither scale which are 8/8. If you are extremely lucky you will find ilvl 28 thorbias, but they are extremely rare. I've heard horror stories of ilvl 28's dropping and twinks offering to xfer and buy them off levelers and the leveler basically says fuck you and equips them.
The best story I heard was a few months ago when a leveler in sfk playing enhancement shaman got ilvl 28 mage fists in sfk and after being told they were worth about 500k, said meh, and equipped them.
Tldr check the ah and get some slitherscale if you are short on time.

Yeah, I really just wanted to see if the Wowhead drop rate of 0.12% was realistic or not. That and I'm sick of farming that cave and those druids. I got the Slitherscale on my shaman and the leather ones on my druid. Killing goblins in open air Ashenvale was more appealing though much less rewarding. I did manage to listen to a fun podcast. At the risk of looking silly on here, I'll keep you guys posted.

Another poor soul, when attempting to get Thorbias (ilvl28), I also went to the goblin zone in Ashenvale. after roughly 11 hours of farming...no really. I've noticed that the WoWhead drops aren't 100% accurate lol and farming goblins for Thorbias isn't the most efficient method and doing Stormwind Stockades is a better option.
PS: I got the Thorbias now (from just saving gold and purchasing) =)

Yeah I did, although I didn't ask a GM to revert my level as I believe me levelling to 21 was fate. With my Hunter being ruined another character of mine will overcome the power he once held.

So I was doing some dungeons with a friend and I forgot i had my xp on pretty much. Why it was turned on and how I didn't notice are two of the many questions I ask myself till this day, A rookie mistake!

Well I just did the Duskwood quest and my Yorgen's Mitts upgraded to Epic. They're level 32 but I am not sure just how Epic they are when they're +6 Agil , +9 Stam , +5 Crit. I guess that's marginally better than the level 26 Gordoth's Crushers or the Deadly Serpentine Grips from Blackfathom Deeps but.... what do you guys figure?

I mean, you can get gloves from random dungeon satchels with 5/8 and 8 secondaries sooooooo
This thing about slither scale is that you put glove reinforcements on them

You do if you had reinforcements avail. I get it. I have no sub right now and just have some +agil enchants in my bag. Who knew I'd love this hunter so much? Ah well... I'll keep running Stocks in between BGs and see if Thorbs ever drop. Man, I could use a good 3 day return-to-WoW weekend soon! Anyone else?

Yeah, there's no telling when those weekends are going to happen, as far as I know.
Slap the agi on the epic gloves if you like crit, hold out for slither or thorbias, doesn't matter. I dig crit myself.

Theoretically, soothhsayer is not really mandatory cus its replaceable with bg gear.
would you mind clarifying this part for me? been a while since ive played but im assuming the adaptable chest is now comparable to sooth? i heard the bg gear was buffed at some point but it still seems like a downgrade in a perfect world (-5 vers), yeah? or am i missing something else?

5 vers wont make or break your hunter, so the real question is, are you more willing to farm that quest chain, buy a chest off the AH or farm BGs for your chest piece?
Sooths isnt mandatory because there are a huge number of options for a hunter.

Rerolling for items that you can't get from bg crates is always a solid choice! But I didn't mind rerolling for them. Definitely worth it to me, but the few stats extra it gives are really overrated for sure, like ohti said.
