US How viable is a Alliance warrior for solo, random BG?

Grandfathered
I'd really like to play a Worgen warrior as a solo player for random battlegrounds, but two things concern me:

  1. Alliance do not win often
  2. Warrior is a weak class (for solo experience)
I honestly don't mind losing matches here and there but it'd be nice to win some and not spend most of my time in graveyard especially since I'm playing by myself. Not trying to troll, I'm just looking for honest opinions as there's a lot of good info on this site. I am trying to take advantage of the sale going on at the moment and have a good time.

Thanks all.

Edit: This is for a F2P/Vet (level 20) account. I can get all the heirlooms purchasable by gold except guild rep ones.

Guild rep isn't impossible to grind. If you level 1-20 in guild with tabard you got a real good jump on it. Doable in a month if you are doing this with a new battle chest.

Alliance, idk... Its been rough for them. Arms is strong and would be enjoyable, just not vs survival. I'd roll on Aerie Peak, you'll find plenty of 20s to play with. Or Bleeding Hollow.

Download this:

It allows the f2ps to talk with one another should others be on.

@Hashbrowns, thanks for the heads up. I'll make sure to download the add-on. Damn, I figured going Alliance might not be a good idea. Back to the drawing boards...

In my experience play what you like. I played mage for 3+ years and enjoyed it every time, no matter how underpowered or faction balance changed.

If you get the battle chest and lock xp at 20 make sure you unlock before your time expires. Otherwise it bugs and you can't join BGs or Arena. Just unlock, let time run out.

Warrior IS very strong and can beat all but the best survival 1v1
and it's not true that alli loses often, probably just bad luck.

@Ðrips, I don't know. Unless you queue up with buddies, your battleground W:L ratio looks hella astroturfed.

@Hashbrowns , I hear you, but when I played rogue last expansion, I had such a bad time dying all the time against hunters, priests, druids, and monks. Then again this was when gear mattered.

I equally enjoy warrior, paladin, rogue, mage and shaman so if one class dies less in BGs then I'd prefer to go with that class. I just thought Worgen warriors looked f*cking bad ass.

@Leek , thanks for the info, man. From my understanding, in a BG setting, it's very rare to get a 1v1 matchup and especially if I have to cross the enemy line as a melee, I'd be the first to get focus fired - this is from a short experience playing a rogue a year ago.

@Hashbrowns , nice. I was thinking about Tauren paladin if Worgen warrior didn't work out.

It was either have heals and have low mobility (paladin) or have no heals and have high mobility (warrior).

I play war as main and it is a very viable class. I personally prefer arms over fury but sometimes fury is fun 2.
If you don't like to die so often and play solo Boomkin is good choice.

If you are playing solo, you may find Warrior frustrating. I mainly solo queue and unless you get in a group with some good healers, you will likely find yourself dying a lot, or you need to pick your fights carefully as a solo Warrior.

I mainly play a ranged Hunter and I love taking on lone Warriors as I usually wear them down while keeping them slowed and at distance. The 1-charge is not sufficient imo. Prot has more utility with a stun and slow as well as 2 charges but you more often than not hit like a wet noodle or you shield slap'em like a soft tortilla.

On the other hand, Warriors work really good in team play and if you queue in a team you will be alright. But to solo queue and end up with randoms who won't watch your back or heal you............... you'll probably be doing quite a few graveyard runs! That's my experience with Warriors when I solo queue. I can only play a Warrior in short bursts before getting frustrated, especially given I solo queue most of the time.

I win the vast majority of my games playing solo as an alliance f2p druid without a guild and without premading. Detail: I play at night, this is the secret. If you play at day, you will be queued if a bunch of newbie kids and will lose most of the matches.
