How To: Alliance Queue Times

Vailent: Can't tell if sarcastic or just really mad?
srsbsns: The original post had absolutely nothing to do with multi-boxing, where did you get that from??
What makes it not multiboxing is that he isn't playing the accounts simultaneously, he is switching between the windows playing one at a time.

What I was getting at with calling the OP's activity "multi-boxing", was to point out that it was different than "botting" in an important way that Blizzard cares about — the actually human control of the characters. And I suppose you're right, about not calling it mutlit-boxing, if true multi-boxing requires use of without any controlling software/hardware. I guess multi-accounting would be more apt. I suppose tendency of starting an argument with a redefinition of a term goes back to my philosophy studies. I should have continued to explain the thought, but that would have required a lot more typing.

it's not against the rules to have more than one account. therefor IMO, it shouldn't be against the rules to play them at the same time.

For sure. The question is, should they be selling one person multiple accounts in the first place?

, I
didn't even think about the logical similarities of an argument supporting wintrading, and multi-account wpvp farming. They both fail ToS test because of the collusion between factions.

Which brings up an interesting question when it comes to wpvp botting: is blizzard concerned more about automation, or inter-faction collusion. Or the combination of both, but neither independently — to any great extent.

Is it possible to collude with yourself? That's an interesting assertion...

no because you need at least one other person to 'collude with'. I guess you could say the in game characters from different factions appear to be colluding from an in-game perspective, but if one person is controlling them, it is not, by definition, colluding.

i can't honestly see a valid reason why not. after all is said and done, blizzard is a money making organisation.

should ford sell the same person more than one car?

1: More concerned about botting by far. They did after all, remove the restrictions on pvp realms, which prior to cata, prevented a player from having toons on both factions on the same realm.

2&3: Blizzard defines each account as a SEPARATE person in their user agreement, so yes, as I attempted to imply earlier, it is possible to collude with yourself in this case.

There's good reason, in an money making online game, for not letting a person own and play more than one account. The collusion* in the above example is between the player-characters. So even though it's just one person, the player characters are secretly working together.

Imagine coming into a real money, online poker table where a few seats are filled by the same player playing several player characters. The advantage gained by even playing one additional seat, and knowing what cards they held would be tremendous (this is why I never played online poker, I can't think of a table where this wouldn't be the case). To me, the most important feature of one of these games, if i were to play, would be to what extent they could guarantee that people weren't working together. Honestly, I don't see how they could, as anyone could just call work together on the phone/skype, etc.

An example of PC collusion in our experience, would be when someone queues an extra, opposite faction character for WSG, grabs the flag it, then proceeds to suicide in mid — giving his team the first cap. I've even seen people exploit this for flag return achieve

Anyway, the more that I think about it, the more I think a one account per person limit might be good. The similarity between poker and the AH are actually quite striking when you think about it.

*I am not speaking of the legal term "collusion", just the regular word.

one is ruled by gambling laws, the other is a computer game with a minimum age of 12. one involves real money, the othe doesn't (apart from your sub).

should they ban one person from playing two player console games?

what would stop me putting my 2nd account in my brothers name(s).
