highest ilvl obtainable at level 70

what is the highest ilvl obtainable at level 70?
saw armory of twink on my server at 144..
i assume that isn't possible anymore but if someone could please explain how they got such a high ilvl that would be lovely thanks!

i want to know if there is even a point in starting a twink or will i end up getting one shotted by super twinks....

higher ilvl = higher stats . idk if im allowed to link other peoples armory here.... but the dude had like 730 main stat and 18k hp at level 70... which is absurd

do you know how he got such high ilvl gear?

he most likely hasnt logged in since the legion stat squish, no one is nearing 18k hp at 70 anymore except for maybe a few tank builds. most 70s now a days sit at 6.4k~ hp. linking an armory is fine also
 
not necessary higher ilvl higher stats .. for most armor pieces yes .. not for weapon which proc something, or trinkets, or even necklace and rings sometimes .. so when you use a more powerful weapon or trinkets which has much lower ilvl, it pulls down your entire ilvl value, so that is not an indication of how OP you are

this is true my 380 main uses a 355 trinket because the damage proc does high damage regardelss of ilvl. the trinket being darkmoon deck:" fathoms

but in this case im trying to figure out where the high ilvl gear came from because in this instance they are giving huge amounts of stats

i think it might still be possible to get to that .. i havent check through my toons, but i believe a blood DK with socketed gears can, i have seen my kid's priest lvl70 at over 7k health, a lvl79 would have about 9k, thats using all 5 int/6 stam gems, and for a blood dk, using a 5 str/6 stam built, would easily have 2.5 times the health of any other class .. i take this reading from all my diff lvl blood dk .. so it is possible
 
ilvl =/= stats

fuck, twinks as high as lvl 85 still use BC gear because it gives better stats

that dk you linked hasn't logged in since bfa prepatch so his gear is still legion stats

start farming the 5 str/ 6 stam gems .. it is much better than 6 str gems .. for sure .. even if you are not using tank specs .. most people like to go for the str/crit gems .. but personally i like to see my character having a lot more health .. it is intimidating lol

at lvl70-79 especially, you have so many options, you can farmed dungeon or raids, and even some older instances too because gears scale up, all you need to do is find out which stats (secondary) you want to get (assuming the gears are already having the BIS primary stats), i once wanted a max out versa disc priest that i concentrated on the best gears that give the max versa, because there are so many socketed gears to choose from, and from so many dungeons/raid, i just focus on the stats. i didnt even look at the ilvl anymore, you prob have to spend some time to list down the gears you want, then start farming them .. some of the wowhead showing old stats value, so you got to cross check here and there to confirm the value before you farm, otherwise you end up getting something with a lower than expected stat
 
are some of the comments on this thread a troll or serious? I don't mean for that to sound rude but it is hard to tell... Higher ilvl does not equate to higher stats in all cases, some cases yes, that's how it was set up, but in the 70 bracket you can have a 100 ilvl wrath piece with less base stats and no sockets makeing 70 gear at 80-94 ilvl> any of these pieces. With the stat squish even at 79 the only way to get over 10k hp is with full stam enchants, gear and gems. Our blood dk tank for our guild has a set with 20k hp and he's fully gemmed and chanted for it.
armorys of characters that have not logged in since 8.0 all display the old ilvls with the new values per those ilvls allowing for it to look like 70s have exploited or done some crazy glitch to there gear, which is not the case, it's simply an armory bug.
As for the importance of ilvl, with the squish of ilvl it seems to matter much less since we gain much fewer ilvls per higher ilvl slot. But it has been found that in instanced pve you still gain damage, damage reduction, and healing per whole ilvl increase.
 
@ Freecouch ... The character, what you have linked, has not log in for a longer time, thats all. Its not a bug. When he logs in, he "loses" much of the stats still you can see in armory. As an an example ... you see the Amani Mask of Death in the armory with 33 stam @ iLvL 128. Currently on the lifeserver the item has a iLvL 80 with 21 Stam ... more than 30% less.
 
ight thanks everyone. i know sometimes gear can be aquired with higher ilvl that intended, like the arathi highland gear on twinks.but i guess it wasnt...
 
also, on ilvl. in pvp is doesnt matter, but in raids it still very much does.

as far as health, it really depends on the spec, monks, ferals, and some other dps specs sit around 8k health in raids, though there are alot that do sit around 6.7k.

our tanks pre 8.1 where all over 15k health un buffed except brew and guardian. my blood set was able to hit 23.5k health fully buffed. warrior and paladin where 18k.

since 8.1 it seems like every tank spec lost alot of health except warrior.

and to answer the op, the max ilvl you c an get to now is 95, but depending on the spec, youre better off aiming for ilvl 90.
