Hey Guys!

Hey guys,

I genuinely have not got a clue if anybody knows who i am here anymore, but if you do, then HEY! If, however, you're wondering who the hell this random dude is, then you should know that I was an avid - yet unskilled - f2p twinker about two and a half years ago (my God it doesn't feel that long ago :p)

Anyway, periods of radical relaxation during the christmas holidays have left me with a longing to finally check back into my account as I said I would do when I quit, and so here I am, back on this familiar old forum with many names for me to learn, although hopefully all the oldies haven't quit :D

But as well as just saying hi to you guys, I thought I should probably ask about the state of the game, seeming as I haven't played in just over a year. When I left, Mists of Pandaria was just coming out, hunters were still unkillable, warlocks were kinda meh and I was still farming for that damned fishing hat... Anyway, if anybody could run me over the major changes in the last year (shouldn't be too hard :p), that would be amazing.

So, I'll be rolling a new toon any minute now, just look out for my name and give me a shout!

Welcome back!

Oddly enough, things have kind of circled back to where they were when you left. Mop landed, hunts were nerfed, heals were op and damage was scaled back. Things hit a high for f2p when blizz implemented level and gear ilvl scaling in bgs; in a battleground the active level of each player is the top lvl of that bracket, and gear gets an ilevel boost (4 in the case of f2ps) which sometimes raises the stats a bit.

Then 5.4: hunts are back to cata ridiculousness. Blizz let ppl put level 90 enchants on boa gear and "scaled" those, and 24s were returned to being OP.

In short, welcome back to the bracket you left, (minus hit stacking to hit 24s).

Welcome back, we have access to MoP. Which means archeology, so if you want a few vanity items like Ancient Amber or Wind Chimes (or dino mount if you have a f2p dk). Also I believe hunters have access to a seagul pet now, not 100% sure though. Healing is serverly nerfed. 24 rogues can ambush for 1500. But it's still fun and 24 premades are still beatable. Enjoy!

welcome back to reality, we still only have acess to cata :p

Welcome back to the bracket.

It's a lot like Cataclysm but it's a bit better.

F2Ps have higher health pools, and a lot of burst. Gear scales to 24 so we have equal 'gear' to 24.

Hunters aren't as bad as some are making out earlier in the thread though, they're still very strong but they are killable 1V1 if you're a good player.

24s get better enchants, P2Ps can put any enchants on their gear at any level but the enchants scale too. This only makes the OP 24 classes unkillable. It's still possible to take down the other classes.

Healers aren't strong solo anymore, but multiple healers who stick together are like an iron wall, especially resto druids+Disc priests.

All classes are viable now but obviously some specs are terrible, such as fury warrior, Enhance shaman, Afflic Warlock, and so on.

24s are more common and Horde has a lot of 24s, but alli has a lot of 24 5-man premades from my experience.

AP is no longer the central hub and there's multiple servers with notable populations. AP's still the most populated.

Notable servers are: Moon Guard (A), Korgath (A) (H), and Blackwing Lair <3 (H), Vashj (A) I'm obviously forgetting some but there's a lot of great F2P communities on multiple servers, some are big and some are small.

It's a lot harder to grind for heirlooms as they changed the JP -> HP and HP -> JP rate.

Pugs are incredibly boring and predictable. There's been a massive boom of Brazilian F2Ps, who honestly don't know how to play the game at all, who sit around mid all day getting owned by 24s and skilled F2Ps. It all boils down to who has the most objective team now.

Premades are fun though if you find the right friends.

We can now play any race, and the only class we can't play are monks. We might be able to play monks next expac though from what i hear.

Better than cata? Hell no.
But I do agree about the jaja boom , they seem to haave endless supplies of belf/human prot pallies that all look alike and play exactly the same lol

What'cha talking about?

Cata was the most imbalanced that the bracket's ever been.

We had more abilities in cata and every class/spec was viable, also there weren't as many 24s in each bg, now it seems you will see at least one 24 if you que wsg. Seriously though shadowstep... come on

24s were a lot stronger in Cataclysm, even compared to MoP 24s. The gap was bigger.

Are you forgetting hunters and rogues? There was more variety in Cataclysm and more viability, however Cataclysm was the most imbalanced and everything that wasn't a 24, a hunter, or a rogue got destroyed easily.

5.4 24s are stronger then cata24s by far, thats obvius. the gap is about same thing now.
There was more viable classes/spec but not more variety.

For me 5.4 is as bad as cata but this time healers are little weaker but endless mana compensates it.

i kind of disagree with ya, the only 24s that i find as bad are the spriests and the rest of them are about on par with each other.

also, hi ya mon.
