Help vs Prot Paladins

I play a warlock at the moment and have incredible trouble with prots. I know they're considered OP right now but I'm sure there must be some way to beat them as a destro lock. I'm full BiS except shoulders yet prot paladins lacking looms can take me out if I slip up once.

Anyone able to offer any tips for Destro vs Prot?

heavnt delt with many destro locks - they do not seem to be very popular, but one day in 2 wsgs i was able to repetadly bring down 24lock on my own (Im nearly BiS), so I guess you just gota outskill them hard

Its pretty much impossible as long as avengers shield crits for 500+. No way that you can ever out DPS that on a destro lock. You cant kite them either since they are also kind of a ranged class - so meh..

Just circle around them because it'll take a while for them to keyboard turn back to face u

I lol'd.

Anyway, it seems like I basically have to put up with being shat on by them for now. Sigh.

Thanks anyway.

You have zero chance against a decent Prot pally. Just remember to kite. Also a good idea is to cast a fear then run.

Yeah, I generally just try to fakecast the avengers, fear, get some distance then depending on whether or not I think I stand a chance (Usually not) I either immolate and slow then turn and run then conflag again just as daze is about to ware off or immolate, slow, fear, incinerate, slow, incinerate and hope for the best. Usually I don't fear after that until they're low so I can interrupt healing as best as possible.

why would you fake the avengers?

Its hard but doable if they aren't very good. You should have a bit of silence-free time because they'll inevitably just open with Avenger's Shield.

If they're already on you, fear early to open up a gap, then Immo>Incinerate>Incinerate>Conflag for slow. The travel time on Incinerate is really nice for casting it in fears, since the Immo itself wont break it right away.

After this, kite a bit and get another Incinerate or two in. Fear around when your Conflag slow is ending instead of reapplying it. They'll probably be hitting the health range where they remember to click their heals, so this fear should interrupt a FoL. Incinerate > Immo > Fear in this one. By the time your fear finishes casting, theirs will be broken and they'll be casting another heal out of it. Then Incin/Conflag/Conflag and hope for a crit or two to finish them off.

Pop Dark Regen around half health and use your healthstone as needed, preferably while Dark Regen is still active.

Its pretty easy to counter this, but difficult concepts like covering your heals with Avenger's Shield seem to elude most of our precious Prot Paladins. Its also a lot harder to pull off inside when your Fears can LoS them around corners. This works like a charm against terrible Holy Pallies casting Holy Shock offensively too

This. This is a pretty well written response.

The only thing I'd add as a suggestion is to remember that Avenger's Shield has a 30 yard range while many of your abilities have a 40 yard range. Use that to your advantage! Though that being said, it is a largely uphill battle and can feel very frustrating when their instant cast does as much damage as 5 of your stand-still-and-cast spells.

This is true.
It's also quite demoralising.

What do you guys think the longevity of this will be?
Do you foresee any change to prot in the future or will it stay like this until the next expansion?

It's possible that it will change but I don't think it'll change for a while.

It took blizzard a while to nerf shockerdins, penance, etc. And a decent amount of premops problems are still here.

what faction are you ? . dis ish important
