I got the steel scale crushfish but it can't mog. At least I got the sea pony while doing the fishing quest.

Oh sorry guys. Wasn't trying to fool anybody. I was just really excited at finally overcoming the RNG. I thought everybody knew that the title required some p2p only achievements.

I subbed for a few months at MoP launch. Tried raiding, decided it was for suckers, and started investing my remaining playtime into stuff that I could carry over to my f2ps. I don't really care about achievements, but I got some nice mounts, and luckily was able to finish all the meta-achievements of Accomplished Angler but one, One That Didn't Get Away, so that I could get the title — which I really wanted.

I posted this because I actually caught the Steelscale Crushfish on one of my f2ps, and it requires quite a bit of luck. Odds of catching a rare fish for the achievement is said to be in the order of 1/10,000, perhaps a little better for DMF Island.

If anyone is interested in trying to complete it, the only meta-achievements that are p2p only, are The Lurker Above, which is in a raid that a 20 can't get into, Old Man Barlowned, and the 450 skill points in fishing (our max being 375).

The way I see it, is anybody could complete the p2p only meta-achievements on one of those $5 Battlechests that they sometimes sell. Most are pretty easy. The rest can be done on a f2p (like I did with One That Didn't Get Away). Some would require a p2p with a two-seat flyer, and a lot of time.

The only one that might be hard to complete in one month of playtime would be Mr. Pinchy's Magical Crawdad Box. It's complete RNG. Odds of catching Mr. Pinchy are 1/500. Then you have a chance of getting the pet. RNG being RNG. you can never say for sure that you could get it done in a certain amount of time. On average though, you would. That one I just lucked out on, and got the pet on my first use. The guides say you need to be level 60, so you can fly to get up to the lake to catch him, but I would put this in the "can be completed with p2p help" boat.

Once again sorry for any confusion. If you've won the fishing contest (it's not very hard), and ever fished up a rare for Mr. Pinchy's Magical Crawdad Box. You've completed 2/3 of the more difficult meta-achievments for the title, so if you ever do subscribe for a short time, like I did, make sure to go and catch Mr. Pinchy so you too can be Salty.

edit: If you do ever decide to go for a p2p achievement such as this, do NOT upgrade your f2p account. If you go the cheap $5 Battle Chest route, you can call Blizzard billing services to get the accounts linked. Or, you can add another f2p account to your existing battle.net account by getting a p2p to send a RAF invite to the email address you use to log in. Click the link in the email, and it creates a fresh trial account. Then, you can upgrade that account to p2p.

Yeah it's disappointing it's not moggable. Still, I have a feeling that there's going to be some fish shaped welts in the near future.
