Healers that don't heal

Klinda

Legend
Lately, with the state of healers, I've decided to try something new as healing is pretty boring as you already know.

I've been on my hunter lately and I've really been enjoying it. I can't 3 shot someone and I have decent cc as bm/monkey which makes me very versatile and actually requires some degree of coordination in order to get kills, simply put; i like it.

Lately though, I have been running into A LOT of healers and for some odd reason, quite a few of them don't heal. Usually your friendly druid would pop a rejuv at least if he saw you were low no matter what spec or your average pally would throw a quick FoL or an HS, but sometimes, I just don't get healed. And it's not just me, I've seen it plenty of times where healers will let there teammates die because they weren't paying attention or doing something else. The bottom is that as a HEALER, YOU MUST HEAL!!! With the current state of healers, there really is no reason why anyone on your team should die if your around.

Have any of you experienced this? Or quite possibly the ones partaking in this?

Actually yeah, I've been going non-healer because my druid is downright cheap and boring, and I keep being frustrated by classes that have heals and seem to not know how to use them....

But I seriously doubt any of those ppl use this website :(

I never realized you were dawn... /growl /focusfireinc

Make a macro or emote asking for a heal and spam it when you're at like 50%. Sometimes you gotta remind those healers to stop dps'ing and actually heal ya know? Some healers seem to be clueless about how to even play it seems and the ones who aren't are the ones topping healing and dmg while going 20-0.

Only heal to count on now-a-days is my Swift Hand

I've already encountered you on more than one occasion on my hunter which never ends well for me :(

But sometimes, your in the heat of the action and you don't have time to get a bandage off and there maybe a couple of healers around but neither of them heal you and you either end up dead or dead. It starts to get a bit frustrating after some time.

Why heal when your team is shit and your dmg is better <33333 PRIEST DMG OP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DOL WIFFF IT

I think Aradriel explained it well. In cata bgs i knew Im the one who is responsible for healing, these days while there are very often just 1-3 non healers on team, its easy to expect that others will heal. I focus much more on cc and bubbles spamming cos druids are much more capable to do the rest. Remaining potential i can throw into dpsing, which is quite useful. Of course Im talking about fight situation where more than 6 ppl are involved.

There's no set path that they have to follow to be good at their class.

Being able to heal means you should heal. Most of WoW PVP is resource management including other players. 5v5 trying to get the EFC becomes 5v4 then 5v3 when your healers don't heal.

And honestly, it's a sign of a newer healer. Flex over to DPS then tunnel vision.

You can either be the healer that heals or the last of your group to die.

Before my break I had noticed the same things as you, Klinda. :/ The overabundance of healers makes a lot of healers focus on damage and many do not pay attention to their teammates' health. Off-healing classes that started out in this expansion probably don't learn to value the usefulness of keeping team members alive quite as fast.

But I do think we're starting to glorify Cata a little bit, as I remember quite a few people telling angry stories of healers not healing even then. ^^

And one off-topic thing:

Dear Jsu8/Holypowah,

if I was a person susceptible to having my emotions overly influenced by reading this forum, I'd have to say you've been seriously annoying the fuck out of me. If you want people not to call you a troll / troll you constantly, stop feeling victimized and reflect on the value of the majority of your posts on TI. Stop instigating arguments or retaliating to perceived slights with immature idiotic one-liners, take a break from TI, read a book on basic etiquette and go on to impress us with living up to your claims of intelligence and wit. Politely.

All the best,
mildly irritated Yde

Biggest issue I see is holy paladins spamming denounce while their teammates fall around them.

That and most shadow priests won't throw out a bubble.

The healers not healing goes back as far as I have played. During Vanilla when Pallys had 1 viable spec and 2 joke specs the term "Retnoob" was lovingly applied to non-healing pallies. I PvP'd a lot while leveling, then turned in marks for XP :) and unfortunately for a while I was ... a retnoob. Luckily by 40s I had learned the error in my ways and went holy.

Cat druids where just as bad back then. Dumbasses wouldn't heal, or get into bear to keep themselves alive guarding a node.

wtb publicly acknowledged word: "Denounceadin" for these!

edit: (as there is no Exodin anymore and HS has been nerfed so there are no Shockadins anymore either)

Wow - you know you're being a jerk when you press Yde (#1 20-24 bracket carebear) enough to swear and call you out. :p

Ohh and an obligatory on topic:

Denounceadins - yarr - heard that before me laddy. And it's funny to watch a disc priest penance you while you are at full and about to kill their teammate. Sucks when you are that teammate.

Honestly I've always crutched on heal classes because I pug 99% of the time. Getting away from that, especially in MoP, is tough but refreshing.

I had an HPal who wouldn't heal me because I wasn't going the cookie-cutter FC route up to roof and hold.
She lost the game for us by not healing her team's FC. Just bitched at me for staying on Horde tun roof, trying to stall a win of 1/1 with 6 mins left. I swear, some people's minds are about as open as mid field in WsG.

THANKS ELFFY! you fucking cunt

Let's see how that looks with a quote box background color:

Anyways, if you alienate your healers or use tactics they find shallow and unrewarding, and they refuse to heal you for it, good for them. I applaud Elffy for that.

People lose games every day by unnecessarily trying to cross mid in that situation. Holding it on top of the enemy tunnel instead of getting picked off in mid shouldn't be shallow and unrewarding.
