Healers in PVP

If a DPS dies to a healer, then they didn't pick their fight. In a straight up 1v1, no starting handicaps, dps classes CAN kill healers. Do healers have it easier? Ofc. they do. They always have. It's also important to not look at PvP balance from a 1v1 perspective. In the end, meter padding or seeking out 1v1 deathmatches doesn't win the game. Objectives do.

The whole "healer should do no dps" never really existed. Even as far back as wotlk, healers did insane damage (endgame especially).

Fact is, you are way more equipped to kill healers now than you ever were in the past. You have way more interrupts and cc tools available to you.

I mean outside of arenas, how often is it realistically going to be a 1v1? Just line up cc, or put enough potential interrupts on a healer that they can't possibly fake cast them all without dying. When in doubt just tunnel until their mana is gone. It's not rocket science. I would argue this is probably the easiest xpac to kill a healer given how much mana depletes and healing numbers vs dps numbers for most geared classes.

I think this is the first xpac in a while where I can't just spam flash of light on someone and be able to top them up, I actually have to think through abilities and use cooldowns. I love it. All the classes with their interrupts, the cc, etc really keeps me on my toes. I was getting lazy near the end of last xpac.

Who remembers the 10 Disco FotM in early Legion when every 19 Twink made a 10 Disc Priest and you literally saw 7+ Discs in a Premade.

Despite the 10 discs, it was some of the most fun I had on rogue since 19/29 WoD. Shadowstep, mutilate, envenom, crippling poison and since I was BiS (literally, outside of gf wrist and cloak enchant), I could kill a 10 disc if they got too cocky for a moment.

I like the point about the cc and interrupts.

Coming from a healer main, it is difficult to get off consistent heals in bgs. Which is ultimately why I play hpally without really using flash of light I can normally keep m y team alive through smaller skirmishes. 2v2 or 3v3. In larger Engagements I will be sitting in the back blasting off flash of lights and throwing judgements while trying to peel the dps that dive deep.

Shutting down a healer isn't too hard.
Burst, then cc/interrupt, finish them off. Getting a nature/holy lock on a healer is easy and it kills their survivability. Most won't try to heal them selves until below half health. So just time your spells and they drop.
As a healer vs dps I look to have a CD before engaging because I want to try to cc/out range/los them before spam healing back up if I can to avoid getting locked down.
So keep that in mind going into the fight and position/account for the cc as needed.

Also, I recommend trying out those 'OP' healers yourself and see what works and doesn't. Great way to understand their limits.
