    • Hi, I've got a level 17 priest just laying here on my account. I've been thinking of leveling him up and starting to gear him, in the next couple of days. But, before I start. What should I stack?
    I've seen disc priests going crit>int>spirit, but I've also seen people go int>spirit and just not care about the crit.
    So... What should I do?

    Inner Fire: Percentage scaling with Intellect (Spell Power).

    Meditation: Scaling with Spirit; only necessary if Mana Regen is a problem for priests. Which, because of Rapture, is less of a problem than it might be for other healers.

    Without calculating the ((Base + (SP x SP Scaling)) x 1+ (Crit Percent)/100) / (Cast time - (1 + (Haste Percent)/100), I would say that Haste is your best bet, since many of the top Disc Priests seem to stack it.

    Intellect is probably more important than Haste in terms of HPS, but Haste has benefits specifically in PvP situations in terms of landing heals on targets before they get globaled.

    Get Haste Cloak/Belt/Offhand, and then Int > Everything.

    You know, I really wish people would -explain- their opinions rather than single sentences (or words!) saying someone else is wrong, or that they are right. I for one am not going to put any value in any opinion offered that isn't explained. If you think Stamina is more important than all, or if you think haste is more important than all, explain why. The person who posted this thread doesn't know why one opinion is right or another is wrong, and neither do I, unless you explain it.

    I've been playing WoW since it launched and I've been playing F2P since it launched as well, but very recently I'm making my first forays into healing characters, and I'd kind of like to know why and how certain opinions got formed instead of just "copy this" or "do this" or "no". [MENTION=18826]Bop[/MENTION] is the only person who has even bothered to try to explain anything. Curt, unexplained answers smack of "Don't question me just do as I say" elitism, and I'm sure none of you intended that. Explain yourselves.
     
    Well, regarding what I said in my above post, haste stacks multiplicatively, rather than additively. This makes it very difficult to calculate. Essentially, you need to test it to get empirical data, rather than try to extrapolate using a few plot points. What does seem apparent is that the more you stack, the more you get out of it (the opposite of diminishing returns).

    I'm just a caveman, unfrozen and a WoW player. I don't understand these graphing calculators, are there little demons in there adding things up? I don't know. What I do know is that blowing berserking and lifeblood at the same time, combined with whatever haste you have on your gear gives a tremendous amount of haste. It makes ally toons look like they are casting backwards through time.

    As far as haste being good for priests in this patch, Goesid, could probably explain it better, I just linked my priest because his mog is hot, and he's an example of a stam stacker (geared for last patch). I leave the judgement of whether that is good or not to the reader. If I had to guess, stam would probably be best in the instance of getting ganked by a rogue (surviving burst); haste would probably be best for healing output.

    Let's get straight to the point then. The 4 stam on your cloak, 6 on your belt won't save your life versus a rogue that does so much damage he is a threat to you. If it does the heal you can cast faster with haste is probably gonna save you anyway.

    And being able to heal your teammates faster is alot better than having the highest hp pool possible.

    And in this day and age you probably won't see many games without a boomkin or spriest adding a 5% haste bonus.

    Crit is a good stat if you play as an offensive priest, as healer it falls behind simply because your bubbles can't crit.
     
    I just checked a BG to see what the numbers are. Cloak, belt and book give 14 haste = 4.55% . flash heal 1.44 sec. Penace 1.91 sec.

    I think haste is the best choice for the moment you get the heal of at the very last moment. but don't expect any wonder from those 60 ms. Otherwise those 2 armories show BiS for priest and the only debatable slots are cloak , belt and weapon. Just chose something that you like and that you were lucky enough to get. The common choices are all very close.

    You will still experience the moment where you pump out all your heals but the healtbar moves down. :(

    If you can't get agm because your realm is too busy. Inherited Mark of tyranny is a valid choice in my opinion.

    Everything counts, and as mentioned before it doesn't take a genius to realise that healing your team faster will help more than having a bigger hp pool.
     
    I think my next healer will be a troll priest . I feel like after having haste and then Going to non haste heals is the best way to see if it is for u . Personally when ever I swap to non haste I just feel like my heals are slower than snot ! IMO just gear haste and get a buddy on a frost Mage or demo lock and ur solid .

    I agree, but I'm still on the fence with haste. Faster, yes, but .06 seconds faster? Preemptive casting to compensate for lag will gain you more time between casts than that.

    And BTW thanks to you guys who came back and explained stuff. A good conversation should ensue.
     
    Don't forget haste also works on your gcd, it can go down to 1 second. This means not only faster spells, it means you don't have to wait as long to cast your next one either.

    To ad to this, I chose haste over stam for my healers. My reasoning is if I get my heal of I will most likely survive, if I don't get my heal of I'm dead for sure. If I have more haste I am more likely to get my heals of. Furthermore my hots give faster heals too (even if they don't have enough haste for an extra tick, they still tick faster).

    I really like haste (why is explained above).

    And if every heal is 0.6 sec faster.

    How many heals do you throw per bg?

    How many heals are there to seperate the two?

    And don't forget about the spriest/boomy buff and lifeblood that also help you and like mentioned before, haste is a stat that gains value the more you stack it.
