Guide to Farming F2P BoEs from Chests

DAMNIT.

Apparently the chests despawn, even if you don't loot them :(

Sorry Aradiel >_<

Hehe yeah, they do. You only have a few minutes once it's been opened. I'm not on AP. Thanks for thinking of me though. It's nice to know they are there, it's just a matter of finding them. :)

Anyway, it gives you something to do while you're waiting for BG pops.

there's over 20 locations in a single zone, it's not really practical to post that many screen shots, and i haven't actually found one in every location pinned on wowhead. Also, as mentioned, and by me in my first post, dwarves no longer have the ability to find chests. I'm sure we'd all be leveling one to 20 and riding around looking if that were the case. Infact, i would say that blizz removed the ability because of these new chests, and to make them more difficult to farm.

swwoooossh

I also mentioned that some people reported still having chest tracking on their dwarves. Maybe be a little less cryptic if you want to be understood? Of course then you wouldn't get a chance to feel a false sense of superiority, and would have to resort to "helping" noobs by carrying them rather than leading by example.

Some noobs are just too heavy...

*looks at Aradiel*

Edit: I lead by example all the time. You should watch me stream sometime and learn a thing or two.

Edit2: this is about BoE not your skill. Stay on topic.

Did anyone mention pick pocketing?

You can get blues from pick pocketing, but the drop rate on those are pretty low. Not much different to simply killing them. The chests, if you can find them, seem to be the best source of blue BoEs.

There's a higher rate of blues in dungeons period, but the number of blues gained to time spent doesn't seem worth it. You can pick pocket everyone in a dungeon, reset five times, and still not get a single BoE blue.

Just curious, do zone drops appear in chests too? I want Martyr's Chain so bad on my Warrior.

As far as I know the 'Cata Chests' (the ones dropping Blues) don't spawn inside Instances, just the old regular ones (often Locked btw, which the Cata ones never seem to be).

But I do agree on the Chain ^^

Unfortunately zone drops do NOT appear in the chests, I've looked at just about all zone drops and they haven't been looted from dungeons.

Interestingly enough normal chests CAN contain zone drops.

The only way for zone drops like the chain or SF is, as mentioned, by being in the zone. Then it is on the loot table. There are even some continent wide drops. The heirloom tank chest is better. If you want it for the look there's always the green Raider's chest.

No, it's not for looks. I'll just go for the BoA then. :3

It's luck. Got 1 each of my last 2 circuits.

Got 2 my first circuit yesterday and 4 my second circuit.

Yes, you never know when they will spawn, because you never know when someone else has looted. The most I have found in a single zone is four. Sometimes I find none at all, even if it's the first time I've looked that day.

As far as getting things for appearance goes, if we can transmogrify on F2P, then I'm sure some people will want their gear to match. The Raider's set, along with the Scarlet Tabard, looks pretty good. The only problem with that set is the shoulders.

Only a question why do you want them to match so damn hard? It's low level PvP it's not high end 3k rating etc... who the... cares how the gear looks like? o_O
