holy shiiit i remember this guy, i played heaps against him but i dont remember if it was vanilla or tbc. I've had hundreds of those dog whistles when i was farming DMH way back, but all those 29s are long since deleted or leveled. Only have 2 left but neither of them have dog whistle

In my opinion, the http://www.wowhead.com/item=3456/dog-whistle is the rarest GF'ed item amongst GF'ed 29 twinks, I barely see anyone with it, I find that Trinket even more rare than the http://www.wowhead.com/item=34227/deadmans-hand, which is in my opinion, the second rarest GF'ed 29 Twink item.

To be fair i quit 6months after the first xpoff locked bgs, came back in november last year, and now the xplock is back hehe
 
I have the whistle and a few other older 29 gear on my 56 hunter

Another reason why they are rare, is because the 'dog whistle' initially was an item that only had 3 charges and then it was consumed, it was only until later on that it became a rare-grade permanent trinket.

The adjustment was made AFTER it became GF'ed.

1 Question, is this trinket even good? Like would it be useful in the current state of wow and what does it exactly do?

So apparently this is what 29s are doing right now. Compiling lists of how many gfd items exist amongst their populations. I often wonder what the vanilla playing past version of myself would think if he could see his future wow playing selfq

It summons a dog for 10 mins that attacks your targets and random enemy targets around you (aggressive pet). You can heal it, but can't control it. The best thing is, you can summon it, and then equip a different trinket. So it's a semi-permanent extra pet. It doesn't hit hard, but it can on occassion eat traps, and keep rogues from restealthing.
 
When you say you found an old rogue what do you mean? I cant imagine forgetting about an toon on my account even old as fuck ones. Im not even that into alts and ive been having to delete trtialsa and random sahit toons constantly to be able to make new shit for whatever reason
 
Uh didn't everyone at 29 pick one up back in the day? Not like we weren't in there a metric TON going for deadmans hand and its always been useful as a "I don't like Rogues" item even when it had the charges it was still something you kept in your bags or bank.

I mean that I recently recovered an old account that I had lost. Seems like some gold farmers took it. I unfortunately lost a 19 rogue, 29 shaman, and they leveled my 39 warrior up to 85.. All they left of my twinks was that 29 rogue and a crap 19 druid
