Fury Warrior Crit Value

How valued is the Crit stat for Fury Warriors? I took a bit of a break before 8.1.5 was released. Upon returning, Critical Strike seems far less valued than it was before, from what I've found. I know Haste and Versatility were generally valued more, but not as much as I'm seeing now. Was there a tweak or change in 8.1.5 that cause its value to crash this much, or am I just reading the wrong information.

Thanks for the info!

Because Crit:
1. Is random;
2. Only increases your damage by 150% in PvP nowdays (200% in PvE);
3. Doesn't have synergies with procs at this level / in the new version of the Fury spec.

While Haste:
1. Is a constant damage increase;
2. Lowers the cooldowns of your main skills;
3. Can result in more class-based procs in this version of the Fury spec;
4. Increases the proc chance of the Crusader enchanting, which heals you and increases your strength by a lot.

Be noted that Versatility:
1. Is a constant damage increase that is similar to strength at this level;
2. Also reduces the damage taken from all sources, including other players.

Worthy to mention that there are people who stack Crit (after Haste) because critical strike's bursty nature could allow for kill opportunities that Versatility wouldn't - even if it is random.

I'll add that crit works well to bring opponents into execute range to finish them off.

And haste stacks really well with enrage - so something like 20% haste is really like 50% with enrage (can't remember exact numbers though).

And OP - what level are you looking at? It changes as you get more abilities.

Yeah, I generally value consistency over a slightly better bottom line in WoW, or many things in life. It just seems oddly specific that more seem to be saying that Crit is suddenly not as good.

I've mostly heard people talking about it at max level, but I've also heard this for low levels (19-49), due to how well Versatility stacks in that range.

I'll use values from 60 as that is what I'm most familiar with.

10 vers = 8.5 crit = 8 haste = 1%

But as it was mentioned, crits only deal 150% damage in PvP, so crit's value can be halved in regards to it's efficiency for raw DPS output. Crit is also affected by mathematically derivative diminishing returns.

However, in PvP, burst windows, time between fights and engaging players on less than full health all affect how each stat should be weighted.

What I recommend is aiming for dealing a certain amount of damage that would be required to K0 someone. Then you will need to playtest to see if that burst window is available often enough and if whether or not it is effective. If it is not effective, more Vers/AtkPwr and Crit will increase your efficiency more than more Haste. If it is effective, you can begin shuffling resources to allow you to do it more often.

Fury has access to Crusader Swapping at lower levels and Destiny/UTB stack at higher levels, so having enough raw power to pull off quick kills is reliant on those procs. Since hitting hard (via procs) and how often your burst windows are available are both determined by haste in this regard, Haste should be your #1 priority.

Damn, I definitely need a haste set! I guess the crit set would be good for sneaking in big damage in a small window of opportunity.

Out of curiosity, how do you weigh stats for a given level bracket? I've seen various sites list their own stat weights for max level PvE, but I have no idea how they figure that out. I'd imagine a dps meter would be involved, but any number of things could affect it, besides my stats. Quite often in PvP, while my dps is usually in the top 5 for my own group, I'm sure it's not as high as it could be, because I'm more focused on winning than killing everything in sight. As such, I'm often spending time moving to where I'm needed and have support, instead of recklessly getting into a potentially dangerous situation or graveyard camping.

EDIT: On a related note, how would you take weapon procs or trinket use items into account?
