<Fifty> Classic Raiding Project

Yeah so Thelse just messaged me that I'm leading a raid with the group leaders and good luck so... people should show up and be respectful even though I'm not thelse.

I'll be 2 hours late / not come at all
 
Very sad day for fifty.

Only 10 ppl showed up today, too many whiny people wanted to do BWL when we were scheduled for MC40. Spent a good half hour over what we were going to do, and eventually go into MC40.

Then DPS weren't focusing down Lava Spawns
Heals weren't dispelling fast enough
Short on DPS
People weren't in vent.

I logged after the 3rd/4th wipe on Lava Spawns in a row.

I'll be here tomorrow but very sad day for FIFTY.

I bet you guys sucked because you didn't have the Tristan swag? Sorry but today was my off day, went snowboarding and the ride to the mountain is 3 hours there, 3-4 hours back because we ate. I'll be there tomorrow tho!

Yeah it was ugly. However with more people and more focus this project seems to have potential.

I haven't been in MC since Vanilla ;o)
 
We have focus when thelse is here because people actually listen to thelse. That was probably the least productive raid I've ever been a part of.
 
I'm having issues withmy computer. Posting on my phone. Ill hopefully have it fixed within a half an hour to an hour
 
Again, sorry that I couldnt make it. My fan stopped working on my video card and I went and bought a new one. But i only came to find out it isn't compatible with my motherboard...

managed to get my old video card's fan to move but added 2 other fans around it and dropped my room temperature to below 60°F

If we manage to do a raid tomorrow, I won't be there until about 8pm CST
 
No worrys Cer we didnt go into BWl but we had a good time in AQ40 messing around with trash and the first boss.
 
Hey Cer, I wanted to respond to this post you made in the WoW forums but can't post from work:

Well Vaelastrasz the Corrupt is the boss that killed 60 guilds. It was incredibly difficult back in the day(so i hear).

There are a lot of mechanics to this boss fights, but overall it's very simple.

1. Every 45 seconds, a tank will die. Essence of the Red lasts 3 minutes, so that's 4 Tanks. I am guessing we might need a 5th tank. More like an emergency tank in case something bad happens. But at least 4 tanks. As long as the tanks can correctly swap when the others, it'll be fine.
2. Melee DPS need to be kept 10 yards away from the tanks, while the tanks are facing the vael away from the raid. That way they are not risking getting hit by the cleave. A lot of the AoE abilities can be avoided as long as the tanks position the boss correctly.
3. As long as anyone with BA moves out of the group, we'll all be fine.
4. We'll need a total of 12-13 healers(for a full 40man group). 1 Healer for every group, and 1 healer for every tank. If one of the Group healers dies from BA, one of the tank healers will take over for that group and heal them while offhealing the tank if needed.
5. Everyone will be given a Greater Fire Protection Potion. Since we do not have fire resistance available, this is the best we can do. We will probably use this when our group healers die. Or for whatever reason, you get incredibly low; this will be your emergency heal.
6. Positioning is the key. As long as everyone does their job and stands where they need to, we'll be fine. It's a DPS race. You either kill him before 3:00, or you wipe 15 seconds after. This is going to be a huge test to our healers because we will need to constantly be healing nonstop during this fight.

Heal through Fire Nova and keep the current tank alive during Flame Breathe for 45 seconds. Make sure His Flame breathe and cleave dont hit the raid. Tank Swap correctly. Move out of the groups during Burning Adrenaline. Stay away from his tail. Stand in the correct Position. And DPS the boss down within 3 minutes.

This boss is very possible to down at fifty. The real question is going to be what's the minimum amount of people needed for the fight. We don't know if we can do this with 25 people, 30 people, or if we will need a full 40man and just barely make it with just that.

And the next two bosses after him dont get any easier from my PoV, BWL is mouthwatering haha

One thing you left out that you need to take into consideration is that Vael only targets people with mana bars when putting BA on people in the raid. So if all of your DPS consists of non-casters he's going to target your healers for BA. You may have to bring some casters just to soak those BA targets up, or more likely just stack extra healers.

Pretty good idea right there.
 
Best thing we can do is just bring a shit ton of healers rather than dps with mana. I rather wipe from the 3min enrage timer from lack of dps.

I'm pretty sure there's no enrage timer for Vael. I know the buff wears off after 3 minutes but I don't think he actually enrages. I recall a few times where the fight lasted longer than 3 minutes but we downed him like normal.

You're right he doesn't enrage, the fight can last more than 3 minutes, but I'd assume the dmg would be too high eventually from the constant AOE that or you'd run out of tanks eventually.
 
There isn't an enrage timer. But you won't be able to heal for very long when you lose the buff.
