Few questions I'd like answered

I'm curious about a few things as I was planning on making a level 1 twink/bank alt. I was wondering if it's still possible to get a worgen out as a level one and if so what is the current method and is it a bannable offense to do so? I'm also curious as to the state of level 1 huntards and rogues as one of those would probably be the class I'd choose. I'd also like to know the best caster dps incase I decide on a caster, from what I know it would be mage or warlock but I'd like to make sure.

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hey!
1. Worgen lvl one is possible, but i wont describe it cuz im lazy and writing on my phone. Just check YouTube
2. Rogues are best tanks, hunter best DPS and warlock best caster DPS. Mages have only CC in bracket - slow. There is a rumor that in 5.3 shamans would be able to run casting lightning bolt.

Thanks for answering, I would still like to know if exploiting out a worgen is a bannable offense or a waste of time cuz they'd make me race change or something. Are rogues damage still good these days? I had an rogue back in the day and they were a lot of fun.

The shamans aren't a rumor, it's in the PTR patch notes. I don't know if hunters do good dps anymore since they can be dodged now.

Rogues can also be dodged. Hunters have a lot of advantages over rogues including bandagebreaking pets.

Also Crystalpall, can you explain why rogues are better tanks? For PvE you wouldn't want to dualwield 15agility.

Edit: 10 stamina difference I guess, but hunters are better kiters.
May I ask you both what would be the preferred level one Hunter pet?

You don't get tame pet until level 10. You have to use the pet you start with depending on your race.

Here is a chart of what race gets what pet - Petopia: Starter Pet Chart

It really doesn't matter which one you chose because pets don't get their special attacks until level 10/20...meaning that the pets for level 1 just do the basic attack (smack, bite, claw) which all have the same damage modifiers.

What you need to shoot for then is what racials benefit you the best:

-Orcs get bonus pet damage
-Dwarves and Trolls get bonus expertise with weapons
-Night Elves have the highest agility of all races
-Others have useful benefits, but not necessarily pet related

And Boud...Rogues are better tanks because, well they're just better (cause kiting is kinda lame :) ) Plus the dodge mechanic is more favorable to Rogues

So if you'd like to be a Hunter - Horde; Orc and Alliance; Night Elf?

As this is already a Q&A thread, I have a few questions:
Assuming that level one hunter got +8% speed on boots but bow enchanted for hit (Pyrium Weapon Chain - Item - World of Warcraft) will I be able to hit lvl 90 monsters? If no, can I get any buffs (consumables, or player ones) that will make me hit lvl 90 or at least 70?
2. What is the highest crit someone got on a level one? :D (proven)
3. What is the highest level mob soloed by a melee character.

Where do you get the 8% speed from? The highest level elite kill I can think of at the moment must be Chok'Sul by Djaeb which is 22.

@Crystal - the combat table works like this
1) Roll to see if hit (this is where your hit % comes in)
2) If you don't make the roll, you miss - if you make the roll you hit
3) After you "hit", the mob rolls to see if it 1) hits, 2) parries, 3) dodges, 4) blocks, 5) glances, 6) crits

When I solo'd a level 30 elite a few years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thPJrBWyKSc

I had 8346 melee attacks. Of those 3283 "hit". Of those 2683 were parried (resulting in no damage), 600 were dodged (resulting in no damage), 2 were glancing blows (resulting in 2 damage), and one was a ranged attack (resulting in 15 damage).

TLDR; Pyrium weapon chain will get you high amounts of hit, but that hit does you no good against high levels because you can't get enough expertise to push dodge or parry off the combat table.

That's what made hunters such good kite tanks in Cataclysm. They couldn't be dodged and so they didn't need expertise. However that's all changed for them. The assumption now is that mage / shaman (in 5.3) / or lock kite tanks will be best

edit: I've solo'd a level 55 Cenarion Emissary and I've crited 154 ... those are my personal best

wow :D
ok, boud, 8% is the minor speed enchant on boots.
then, chubbs, thanks for all the info but Im not sure if glancing blow still works - never seen that :0
but then, as you said if the roll after hit is 1:6, which is approx. 16.6%, it shouldn't be so hard to push dodge after I hit with a hunter. so getting hit cap for certain lvl gives me 16.6% of dealing damage. Or I am wrong?

not exactly...the mobs defense level + their dodge % + their parry % = the chance to dodge/parry/etc ... it's not a zero-sum sort of thing (i.e. there are 6 outcomes, so it's a 1/6 chance)

More like

miss = 5% so a roll of 1-5 is a miss
dodge = 15% so a roll of 6-20 is a dodge
parry = 24% so a roll of 21-44 is a parry
block = 35% so a roll of 45-80% is a block
hit = 20% so a roll of 80-100% is a hit

that's not exactly right, but it gives a visual of kind of how it's figured
