Farming SFK for Shadowfang - Need more info

So as you can tell by the title, I'm farming SFK for Shadowfang... back in the day I know you had to loot probably half the mobs in the instance due to the fact that they all had a chance to drop the thing. I've done my research and according to a few websites it only drops of level 21 mobs and above? Can anybody confirm or deny this info... or provide me with any more information on farming it... any techniques etc.

Is that a definite fact do you know? Or is that just what the majority of the people say.

21+ mobs (4 bosses + 1 rarespawn) chests locked and unlocked. The only thing I'm not 100% sure about are the chests... I know back in the day zone drops could drop from chests, not sure if they changed that with cata or not. It literally is about 1/100,000 runs... but i do know of 1 confirmed drop from a guildie in cata so who knows eh?

Not worth your time when Boa Mace + Pyrium Weapon Chain is bis in the first place.
 
On Durotan, somebody bought some feet of the lynx off me and says he is making a rogue becauze he said he found a SF in SFK the other night, so i can confirm it drops, unless the guy is bullshitting me....

Shadowfangs don't make you good - the difference between them and BoA's is very miniscule. You are much better off getting BoA's and improving as a rogue than spending endless hours farming SFK or gold, unless you already have transfer money and oodles of gold sitting around.

As this is true, I find it hilarious that people spend as much as $100 on such a small upgrade. ;p

I wouldn't say miniscule, but yes, spending time improving your skill (lol) would be better spent than trying to farm SFK or gold.
 
It's more having have the satifaction of have a rare weapon, than going for minor up-grade. Kinda like a new toy to show off (even tho tones of people have it)
It does according to GM and EVERYONE drop of lvl 21 mobs, but so far I can't say I've seen a SS to prove this.

I have managed to get acouple of them using Undermine Journal and most of the people say they got it while doing SFK on a alt (but I never ask if it was recently or long time ago, so who knows).

GMs spend so much fucking time to send their messages to check for errors yet I found 7 grammar errors in the first picture.
