EU+US F2P & Vet Rankings!

Do you think Hardcore rankings are a good idea?

  • Yes, and I will try to participate

  • I don't mind them

  • No, they should be removed (please state reasons)

Results are only viewable after voting.
As @Sin'dor said, I think that this idea of tags could be a good way to quickly see the "main glitches/special features" used by characters so that you can quicky find other "competitors" in the same category as you ^^
Listing the "main" glitches/features that have a noticable impact on achievement points should be enough ^^ No need to go too deep into details :)

Hey there
Great initiative, i'd be glad to add my character in.
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/eu/varimathras/Valàcirca
let me know if i got it correct ima bit tired and not sure i red averything right.

Added

@Brihan was not showing on the rankings for an unknown reason. After updating you should appear as intented.

The regions were added as @Sin'dor suggested, can you or anyone else from US check if armories appear correctly?

Finally, after getting some ridiculous results from checking achieves today I decided to work on the program more and implemented an additional api call to determine if the person is showing "character only" or "account wide" achievements. Depending on your in-game settings, you should appear in the correct ranking. If you'd like to change, just change it in game and at the next update the program should catch it automatically and segregate accordingly.

If anyone is certain they have "character only" box ticked in game but appear in account-wide rankings, let me know. Also let me know if other bugs appeared.

Lastly, @Celax is it possible to sticky the thread?

Thanks @Celax for the adding ^^

And thanks @Crystalpall to have "corrected" the bug ^^, but strangely, I appear in the "account-wide" category instead of the "character only" even if that case has been ticked for more than a year ^^
Seems like my character likes bugs ...

I clicked on every character-link... they all appear to be correctly-formed and working as intended, although the Armory™ still isn't displaying 19/71 of them (presumably for its own reasons, "inactive" perhaps?).

Nice work! :D

Don't thank me, Sketch beat me to it. ;)

So if I wanna join the Hardcore Achievement Rankings thing, do I just create a char and tell you or do we start it at a certain date?

Create a char and tell me, the rankings started upon creation. My own HC is also close to level 20 and I'll add it soon to stirr up some competition

Hello Mr crystal Paladin, I believe you have messed up my achievement amount for my character Tence on bleeding hollow. Checking things out I appear to have 4105 character achievement points, when checking through the guild tab. I know this 4105 number is correct as I have a much higher amount account wide. I will attach an screen grab of my character in the guild with the displayed achievement points. Unless I a missing something, I would assume the in game number is fairly accurate. Let me know if I'm wrong! Achievement hunting was a lot of fun years ago, I was bummed out when toys and then tabards became account wide as all the stuff I collected had become moot.

@tence

Hello mr Tence also Paladin and thank you for contacting me with your issue. I can see that you are telling the truth, as both your screenshot and the armory I checked show the number 4105. However, to properly rank up every single person that signs up I decided to use a program to do it for me, so I don't have to check a hundred armories every time and rank them manually.

If I want a program to check how many points one has, I have to use the Official Battle.net API (tm). Those show me, that you have 3755 points:

This is of course incorrect, so I check another api call I can make, which resolves to tell me you indeed have 18545 points. I can only assume that this is your whole account's points.

So, even though I know that everyone's achievement points are fucked up, including mine, I'm out of ideas on how to fix it, because Blizzard gives me wrong numbers :/

So far I've seen that everyone gets less, so even if everyone loses, it's still pretty much balanced. Maybe they don't count some of the achievements on their end of things? I have no idea.

I was noticing this as well, the numbers didn't seem to add up correctly for everyone. I agree that if its an issue for everyone then it puts everyone on an equal playing field. I meant no disrespect and I applaud you for your dedication to achievement hunting as well as putting this all together.

I also had an interesting idea I wanted to run by you where people put forward notable/difficult grinds/achievements they did on their twinks like the etherium prison key farm, babydoll and the rediculous amount of reputations farmed, or the people that grinded exalted with firelands or ashen verdict.

An example I can attest to was getting kirin tor offensive exalted way back in 2014 when it was current content (and without access to daily dungeon championing or rep tokens through timewalking). Stuff like that that is lost to the ages or new people was always really interesting to me.

Does your API count the blue achivements? Like 5 Exalted Reps, 25 Tabards and such? Might be those that are missing.

That is how I can differentiate between character-only and account wide. Char only doesn't show blue achievements, while account wide does. I'm just checking if a certain pretty-much-everyone-has-it achievement is marked as completed, and if it is, the person is moved to account wide section. I think I made one small mistake tho, that's why so many people might be incorrectly moved. I will hopefully fix that next time.
