Dont you understand that guardian is OPest Op , I played as guardian with my bro , and tried to farm just to try if guardian is good , only healer was my bro , holy pally , they had 1 spriest we farmed them.
I underlined the "opness" of your Guardian druid.
As long as that holy has more than 1,8k hp no shadow can kill him till running oom.
Ontopic: as a healer i like prot warriors most for said reasons and cause their actions are predictable! I always know what happens next while druids well kinda have a mind of its own and in a manner of speaking too many buttons to press :) protpaladins are just overrated-what he can, and we all know its always a he, a holy can do better.
 
i would tend to dis-agree, quite often i play my old prot pally and cap more flags then on my holydin (prot has something like 940, holys on 500+ish), and still cap more flags atm, id say its more about the play style of the tank in question any derp can roll a prot as you can see by the hundreds of them in bgs.

i've seen you fc... you stand on the cap spot screaming at your army of TN healers to heal you. to be anything other than a punchbag holy>prot.
 
Tbh protpala is pretty underrated as an FC. Yeah, maybe it's not that good if you just literally HOLD the flag. But when you get into a bit deeper understanding of the spec and fcing, it can be quite amazing. Avengers @ caster CCs, hoj to get distance from the most dangeous opponents chasing you, into cleanse crippling and kite away with a judgement sprint. Ease your healers pressure with some nice prot heals here and there. FoL is still really strong, use it.

Your mitigation isn't as big as a druid/warr can get but people who judge the viability of a spec
on how big stats and numbers it can reach by minmaxing are lost. What you lose in armor compared to warr and druid, you gain in stam, cc and selfheals. What you lose in mobility to a druid, you gain in tankiness. A druid can't try to escape with travelform without losing 20-30% armor, a warrior doesn't have the necessary tools to flee from a fight to begin with.

TLDR; protpals dont get best armor, best avoidance or best mobility but they're like a toolbox with a lot of excellent abilities, learn to use these abilities and you will do well with a healer.

that's all true, but there's nothing there what a holy couldn't do, apart from AV:shield.
 
And more health from tank spec

And 6% crit chance reduction and +10% block chance.

Not saying prot is necessarily better than holy, there are some situations where a prot does better than holy, and of course vice versa. All I was saying in my post is that whoever says protpalas are shit and useless for fcing are wrong, not that protpala > all and everyone should play it or anything like that.

Yeah Prots do somehow better when the adversary sucks balls. Prot has only LoH for a defensive CD and no damage reduction other than block. Hpals can atleast lucksack Holy Shock crits for a nice quick hp boost and have around the same armor value as Prots do. Also Hpals and GDruids and Prot Wars can stack more Stam without suffering so much dps loss like Prot Pals do.

But seriously, yeah Prot Pals weren't made for Fcing, atleast until they reach level 40 or something.

with defensive cds people usually mean oh shit buttons that either heal you for a huge amount, mitigate a lot of damage or allow u to gain great distance from the other teams dps

on topic: prot paladins are the worst fcs out of those 3, they are very squishy for a tank spec as they dont have any damage mitigation outside of the reduced melee crit chance. prot warriors are the best fcs due to high armor, shield block, defensive stance and charge

IMO stunning a player for 6seconds can take a lot of his damage out. And Franciska, saying protpalas are bad because they only have 1 ohshit button... Well, how many does a warrior/druid have?

imo, there is no contest. hpally is the best all-round fc.

but, if you insist on standing there and "tanking" the dmg, then i'd go prot warr.

You simply can't get enough rage as guardian to make any use of savage defense. Shieldblock is nice if you can backstrafe (which I've seen literally nobody do in this bracket yet...), but even if you do backstrafe, a simple conc/crippling will let melees easily reach your back and render it useless. I wouldn't call shieldblock a defensive cd/ohshit button, it's certainly an awesome ability, but it's 2charges with 9sec cd so it's more of a thing that you'll have up most of the time you can, it's hardly ever on cd :p

Protpalas still have their abilities to lock down enemy players and good selfheals to make up for their bit worse mitigation.

Their 5 or 6 second stun is so OP gives easily enough time to kill a key healer in the battleground.
