f2p rules

These are the rules that I try to abide by, and hope that others do as well:

Grants' Rules

1. Always exercise good sportsmanship and fair play.
  • Bots, hacks, and exploits should have no place in BGs.
  • Don’t use emotes to taunt or harass your opponent, it’s rude and obnoxious.
  • Don’t camp the graveyard. At least give the other team a chance to play the game.
  • If you have the flag and are able to cap, you do it. Don't waste everyone else's time so you can "walk it in" or your team can farm.
2. Don’t hurt your team.
  • Play objectively. Winning the game is more important than topping the scoreboard.
  • Always put forth your best effort, even if it looks like you’re going to lose.
  • Don’t go AFK unless you have a good reason.
  • Don’t start queuing for BGs until you’re sufficiently geared.
  • Do not publicly shame or trash-talk your teammates in BG chat. If they're really that bad, consider offering some friendly advice as to how they can improve.

How I feel about this after a few BGs:

Love love love this post. I feel like most games I am the only one playing objectively and people need to be guided just to embrace the amazingly simple concept of capture the fookin' flag.

On the other hand there is a bit of narcissisim involved on my end - people SHOULD be able to play anyway they want... and I have no right to get frustrated.. however when you queue I believe you are signing up to join a team to complete an objective. At least in my head that makes all kinds of sense. Anyone? Bueller?

I guess if you want to derp mid or GY farm all day than who can say otherwise? I still think you stink... despite kills, gear, skill, bloodthirsty title, and anything really. I really enjoy good teamwork and coordination and for gawd's sake I will force people to obey my will in PUGs.

One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself.

So if I'm ok with being trolled all the time (it pretty much happens anyway lol) it's still ok if I be a troll to really sensitive people? I'm for GY camping because 1 it can't get you banned and 2 I don't really care if our GY get's camped; I'll deal with it. Since I'm a druid it helps that I can, you know, stealth, which most people can't, but I'd still deal with it even if I couldn't and it might give us a chance to sneak some flag caps in. What you're looking for is treat others as THEY would like to be treated... as long as it's reasonable.

OP there's not really any F2P specific code of conduct that wouldn't just qualify to every player. If you're above level 20, a monk, and/or have guild heirlooms or profession advantages requiring above 100 skill other than racials (mainly enchanting), then you're not a F2P.

Yeah this is silly. Even the principle of it is dumb.

The only courtesy to be had in BG's should be towards your own team (I.E., play objectively and always cap flag asap).

Having courtesy towards the other team can be a huge mess up if they turn it around because they were able to leave their GY.

Granted, that is a rare scenario, but courtesy shouldn't ever eclipse competitive play. That being said, be aware of the queue times. If there is a 20 minute queue for a WSG, you might not want to go all out balls to the wall. That might make the enemy team not want to queue again.

Be smart, but courtesy doesn't have too much of a place in a video game.

Your battle cry should always refer to Dirty Harry
Graveyard farm when you can, life isn't fair.
Laugh at EFC and key players to distract them and intimidate them

There used to be a very amusing guild called Angry Farmers Union in 20-29 back in the day.

Roster - Community - World of Warcraft

Forkinthearse seems to have been deleted, and Orcmcdonald looks a bit underused, too. They had overalls, shovels, pitchforks, etc.

Oh, rules?

As far as rules for me, go, rule number one is don't hurt people. Carrying the flag/healing the flag carrier/capturing bases are quite important too!

If our team farms, I score quickly to stop them. If I don't ge the flag (e.g. one of the farming peons has it) I hide and mock them. If we have a dominating collection of 24s/twinks I'll generally carry the flag wearing little more than a stylish dress to give the other side a chance.

I'll emote from time to time, mainly at 24 gooners. Maratian was a target for that kind of thing, though.

thats very pretty and nice but the game doesnt works like that.
Imagine 10 ppl like you in the same team... glad ur one of a kind :)

Rule number one : kill/hurt every fucking thing in your sight ( shame you can't hurt your team mates...although do try with all the insults in chat ) - we're not playing water the daisies or feed that gay rabbit.....it's a PVP game !

Rule number two : read rule number one again.

Rule number three : Maratian is stronger than Lich King - you can't emote him...but he can kill ppl only by emoting them...

Rule number four : always widen yourself into learning other cultures and languages so you can tell ppl in their own language they are useless or dickless idiots or something....so you constantly need to grow.....

Rule number five : if i'm the one having the berserk buff I rule !

Last rule : always do a /hug to Kraud seing he's Spanish.......

nice sig :)

I follow ur rules alpha, aint got time for last rule.

Pino's Rules to Live By:

1. Don't attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity; don't attribute to stupidity what can be explained by inattention.
2. Just because it's a game doesn't mean you have free license to act like an idiot. Take the game seriously and treat others how you would in real life.
3. If someone is being a bad, politely tell them what they should be doing. It's the only way to learn.
4. Don't feed the trolls.
5. Say hi to people you know when you see them out in the world, and emote alliance you know in BGs.
6. Don't try to be nice all the time. Ultranice people are boring. Be normal.
7. If you really can't play with someone, put them on your ignore list without talking about it in chat.
8. If someone doesn't fish in your pools, don't fish in theirs. It's better for everyone involved.
9. When there are 90s fighting at guru, do not interfere with other 20s trying to ninja the trinket.
10. If you find an item you don't need in a chest, offer it up in chat.
11. Don't attack an enemy that is just standing in their GY away from the action.
12. Don't reward GY farmers. If ally is farming you, step out of the rez radius as a ghost.
13. Use proper grammar, spelling, and sentence structure.
14. Don't 'grats' stupid achievements. Do acknowledge real acheivements.
15. Upside down smiles are not smileys at all.

And most importantly:
16. Don't get upset when other people don't follow your rules, your rules are just for you. When someone breaks your rules it gives you the moral high ground, which you lose when you act like a douche.

Yeah, I did discuss the possibilities of some kind of all-pacifist team based around crowd-control/stun/sapping with some friends, but unsurprisingly concluded that it wouldn't work.

I'm glad I'm one of a kind too! Would be a bit rubbish to play an identikit FotM/BiS, wouldn't it?

Only rule is always display LFH

The 80s called, Dick Tracy wants his hat and dignity back..

LFH mogged with Googles>Lfh!!11

ontopic: U take the healingcookie with no enemys around u deserve to die and your toon should be deleted!

we are just sharing ideas here. and im happy to see there are so many players, cares about friendship trying to be fair and objective. we are not forcing any1 to follow the rules. and we dont have any force to do it also. maybe i misundestand you but i dont have a monk or p2p. when i payed for the game i played a rogue in end game for years. also used to pvp as frost mage. raided as prot warrior and feral druid. thats all.

I was just pointing out that F2Ps can't get above level 20, be monks, get guild heirlooms or use primary professions above skill 100 aside from racials so if you use any of those you obviously aren't a F2P.

this is very gay, when someone does this, wsg games are not fun.

I do not make any attempt to impose those rules on anyone else, they are just personal rules that I choose to follow. That's why they're called Grants' Rules; they are rules for Grants. They do not have to be Oneshot's Rules, or anyone else's for that matter. People are certainly free to play however they want, and I am in no position to make anyone do (or refrain from doing) anything. This is just how I choose to conduct myself in the game, and I find that battlegrounds are more enjoyable (at least in my opinion) when other people do the same. If you enjoy doing things differently I'm not going to stop you.
