F2P Heirloom / BoA Transmogrification Reference

Most of you will know this, of course. :)

This short list might clear up any confusion as to which heirloom items you may transmogrify ("mog") on any of your level 20 characters.

Confusion apparently arises due to some classes being able to equip the heirlooms that are of the superior armor type these classes get access to at level 40. These heirlooms' armor will be scaled to the armor type of the character and are not transmogrifiable at level 20.

You may only mog the same armor (or weapon) type into each other.

Once you use an item as a transmog model, it becomes unrefundable.

CHEST

Paladins and Warriors can equip but not mog:
Polished Breastplate of Valor
Burnished Breastplate of Might

Paladins and Warriors can mog:
Champion's Deathdealer Breastplate
Mystical Vest of Elements
Any transmogrifiable mail chests*

Shaman and Hunters can equip but not mog:
Champion's Deathdealer Breastplate
Mystical Vest of Elements

All leather wearers can mog:
Preened Ironfeather Breastplate
Stained Shadowcraft Tunic
Any transmogrifiable leather chests*

All cloth wearers can mog:
Tattered Dreadmist Robe
Any transmogrifiable cloth chests*

SHOULDERS

Paladins and Warriors can equip but not mog:
Strengthened Stockade Pauldrons
Polished Spaulders of Valor
Pristine Lightforge Spaulders
Burnished Pauldrons of Might

Paladins and Warriors can mog:
Aged Pauldrons of The Five Thunders
Prized Beastmaster's Mantle
Mystical Pauldrons of Elements
Champion Herod's Shoulder
Any transmogrifiable mail shoulders*

Shaman and Hunters can equip but not mog:
Aged Pauldrons of The Five Thunders
Prized Beastmaster's Mantle
Mystical Pauldrons of Elements
Champion Herod's Shoulder

All leather wearers can mog:
Lasting Feralheart Spaulders
Exceptional Stormshroud Shoulders
Preened Ironfeather Shoulders
Stained Shadowcraft Spaulders
Any transmogrifiable leather shoulders*

All cloth wearers can mog:
Exquisite Sunderseer Mantle
Tattered Dreadmist Mantle
Any transmogrifiable cloth shoulders*

*(excluding any items not rewarded to your faction or crafted by professions out of F2P reach, etc.)

WEAPON

Any heirloom weapon your class can equip can be mogged to any other transmogrifiable weapon of the same weapon type (that uses the same slots: One-/Two-/Main-/Off-Hand), including other heirloom weapons.

You may now mog Guns, Bows and Crossbows into each other. Examples here.

You may mog a One-Hand weapon onto both a Main- or Off-Hand weapon.

You may not however mog a Main-Hand weapon onto a One- or Off-Hand weapon, or an Off-Hand weapon onto a One- or Main-Hand weapon.

Darkmoon Hammer is now suitable for transmogrification.

Thanks to Stamm, solvogero, Punnishers and xatruch for pointing out important things to add! :)

This is so I have a quick link to throw the 10%. ^^
I'm too lazy to type things up twice.

Thanks. :)

I still wonder why Blizzard made it this way. I believe its bullshit you can't mog the Plate BoA's as Warrior sub 40 etc. -_-

Agree! Ruined my Shaman mog.

Yeah I wish that when a plate BoA is acting as mail, that you could mog it with mail (same with mail/leather BoAs). I guess that would be problematic when one levels to 40, but they could just make the mog disappear or something.

i'm the 10% :(
always like the Champion Herod's shoulder,
oh, well, maybe i'll roll warrior or paladin.

btw, from a blue post,
"soon" we can transmog item that share the same animation, like MH dagger=OH dagger; staves=polearms

Thank you for this reference Yde.

I found myself confused on this very subject sometime ago in cata. It was weird at first, but after some analysis of the scaling process in regards to Boa's it became very clear what could/couldn't be mogged for certain classes.

Make sure you add this to the sticky if you haven't already.

Every other day I write a "Bug Report" in-game saying that the plate heirlooms don't work for transmog. Hopefully some day someone will notice. The more people writing tickets/bug reports such as these, the better.

gl all!
