Epic RuneChain girdle ?

Can runechain girdle proc epic? It is not a dungeon drop and is unique to trigore, so does anyone have proof if it can proc epic or not?

There's no logical reason why it wouldn't, though I have not personally seen it. I'd check the "Epic bragging" thread.

I have a few multi tap kills on him, nothing yet. Super long spawn timer. Nothing from boahn also who I have killed many times. Not even rare upgrade on many looted brambleweed leggings.

Idk

Hm. I may try and farm for it later, honestly. A bit surprised it hasn't procced an epic and been posted yet....I have to wonder just how the RNG to these works. Some items seem to have a significantly higher proc rate.

Perhaps the long spawn timer mixed with possibly not being as popular of a thing to try and get as the items with secondary stats just means we haven't seen one yet?

Might be pretty sweet to have on my hunter.

Yeah he’s pushing like 36 hour spawn rate. I have 15 kills on him and all blues so far. But that’s not proof considering it’s all rng. It took me about 2000 kills before I got epic foreman’s leggings...

RNG can be a cruel mistress.

Combine that with the spawn rate and it might be a long time before we see one.

Or someone can read this and just go kill him and have one drop. Who knows.

Epic runechain girdle is really good for MM (BiS for agi stack). So I'm suprised that not many people are farming it, could sell for 2mill+.

Yeah, I'm around the same number. 15ish kills looting with two characters, no upgrades yet. Haven't seen any linked either. Kinda starting to think they're counted as dungeon drops, will be awhile before we can really confirm it though.

But why would it count as a dungeon drop if....it’s not inside a dungeon?

It wouldn't make any sense for it to, because it's not instanced.

the 2 rares are right outside WC, you never know. mobs outside uldaman drop dungeon boes. no one can tell us except blizzard xD
Well, to be entirely fair....it would not be the first time that something completely illogical and moronic has occurred in WoW.

:p

RuneChain Girdle didn't get the item level boost on PTR until dungeon gear was buffed. Most of the other rares got it when quest blues were buffed early on. Based on how the changes happened, there seemed to be seperate scaling systems for dungeon loot and quest loot. Most single source BoEs had the quest scaling, but RuneChain was an exception.

Deadmines Cleaver is another one that still had a dungeon ilevel at that point, and people have farmed tons of those without an upgrade.

While I do agree it certainly possible he is counted as a dungeon guy. Deadmines Cleaver is a bad example because you are actually in an instance when farming that, the closest example I can think of would be the trash around Foremans that because Blizzard is lazy share a loot table with some stockades and deadmines bosses and trash.

The Deadmines Cleaver example is more about the items themselves rather than the way they drop. You're right that they probably shouldn't be the same, but it looks like they might be. All the BoEs that proc upgrades had their ilevel boosted when quest rewards were buffed on PTR. Dungeon gear doesn't proc upgrades, and the ilevel on those two items didn't change until dungeon ilevel buffed (thread from the first round of changes here).

But the items that drop around foreman’s are items that also drop inside the dungeon. Runechain girdle drops outside the dungeon only and not inside at all.

Yes its not a perfect comparison, I dont think there is one. But if Boahns and Trigores loot is considered dungeon loot it would make them similar.

As far as I understand, all items that have a chance to drop from a single mob have the chance to be upgraded to epic quality. Like "The Pacifier" that drops from the rare spawned mob Lo'Grosh in Arathi Highlands or "Foamspittle Staff" that drops from a non-rare mob in Westfall called Murloc Oracle. I see no reason why Runechain Girdle wouln't be able to upgrade to epic? Only thing I am not sure about is if items that drop from a single mob inside dungeons has the chance to upgrade to epic, I haven't seen any of those yet. I hope that is not the case! Also, on the Atlas Loot addon he is counted on the loot table of Wailing Caverns so I am suggesting that he is a part of the instance (even tho he is outside the portal).

The mob is somehow tied to WC, and items from dungeon can't upgrade.

With http://us.battle.net/wow/en/item/5425 also showing no upgrade is possible, I think its pretty safe to say it doesn't upgrade.
