Enhancement Shaman Help.

I've decided to start a Dwarf Shaman (going Alliance since they have all the better options in leather i.e. Patch) and I was wondering if I should either go for Aluwyn's Legguards for the agility or Blackfathom Leggings for the crit? I wanted to go for the BF leggings but I wondered if it was the better option.



Also, as far as weapons go, I was wondering on whether I should for Shaman axe and a mace or another Axe. I figured since Dwarfs get expertise for using Maces, it would be the better option. And if maces are better, which mace would be suitable?

Not sure as I'm not any good at this kinda thing, but skeletal club would prob be your best mace option pre-boa if you can get one
 
@Shift: I ruled out Skeletal Club because I figured it would be too difficult trying to farm one, seeing as it's a world drop, but thanks for your input.



@Hazskillz: I'm assuming this means Axe over Mace? And yeah, I was intending on getting a mace as soon as I get the honor.

If you're rolling it on Ap yea it's probably out of reach yes. If you are on some barren wasteland server chests aren't hard to find at all imo

Alluwyn's, hands down IMO. The agi may not give you as much crit as 7 crit rating, but you get a lot of attack power. (Think of it like warriors in vanilla taking agility instead of strength to get a high crit %: yeah, your crit chance is high but you hit about as hard as a light breeze if you don't crit) And, as enhancement, I don't think int. is really a helpful stat as your melee hits will return mana to you, so you don't really need a big mana pool.

If you off heal at all, or are constantly purging, as I do, I would go for the blackfathom leggings. Although our spellpower has taken a massive nerf in 4.3, our healing from healing surge is still more hps than a single dps can dish out.



You are comparing 10 stam and 8 agi (aluwyn's), vs 10 sta and 7 crit and 7 int (bfd leggings). I would value the overall package of the bfd leggings more. Crit is always nice, and that extra intellect is a nice cushion for slightly more healing or purging. Purge costs 51 mana I belive... It adds up quick! Sure you lose some attack power, but you can't get something for nothing... The benefits outweigh the drawbacks imo.



(I would choose the bfd leggings over foremans leggings for prot/ret palli's too).

You may not be able to out heal the geared pros (eg. Arknoodle), but you can still out heal a decent amount of people in this bracket.



Regardless, if you consider intellect worthless, you are still comparing 18 stats to 17 stats. The 7 int is just the extra boost of usefulness to (imo) make the bfd leggings worth it. Extra purges or 1 more heal on your fc as he/she runs through the mid field are what can make the difference between a flag capture/return.



If, however, you never want to offheal or spam purge and you just want to go for the maximum dps, then aluwyn's may suit you better.

I have healed through Kale wailing on me before... And I have also been 1 shot by Kale's templar's verdict. So at times I would argue that you can out heal a single dps...
 
What your overlooking though is that agil gives crit.



So with the agil leggings you get AP+Crit as apposed to INT+Crit.



As enhancement take your pick I see my choice though >.>
 
I like both. It honestly depends on playstyle. If you make frequent use of purge and offhealing, then take BFD legs for the mana bump. If you wanna hit things as hard as you can with a hammer covered in molten lava, Aluwyns it is.

Here is my Enh shaman, really fun to play. Pre BoAs as I am in Mexico and havent been able to play lately.



Advice I offer is to purge often, ALWAYS keep your water shield up IMO, shock>lava lash>primal> shock> etc according to cooldowns. When somebody is in your face DPS until health starts running low, drop Earthbind, run, drop heals. Come back and kill. Purge him if he starts healing as well. Use Fire totem always as it keeps their spell casting down a bit. DO NOT KEYBOARD TURN. Dont act a Baws, BE a BOSS

Earthschock that F´n Backpeddlin hunter when he has 100<HP for FEEL GOOD kill

After a while you feel invincible and run into groups of opposing players, Dont do this. Enhancement Shamans ARE awesome, but not that awesome
